Just as advertised, this unit meets all my expectations. I really like I don't have to connect external power when using my home setup. One connection and I have all the devices I need ready for my use.

I upgraded to this doc to support dual HD monitors. It did it's job nicely! Two DP ports would have been handy.

This is not fully compatible with all of the laptop models listed in the compatibility list--While it seems obvious, the laptops listed as compatible MUST have a thunderbolt upgrade to be compatible with this dock.

Works great. Plugged it in and performed as advertised.

The dock seems to work fine with my Inspiron but I have still had no luck getting the USB ports to work on my Alienware R3 17. I have installed and re-installed the drivers in every possible combination, but the USB ports still do not work properly. When I plug a mouse in, it seems to works for 10-15 seconds and then starts to hesitate and stutter. When I plug in a keyboard it seems to work but then a key will stick and that key is input many times.

Works as advertised with little fuss using XPS13 laptop and 2 dell monitors.Windows 10 screen management software is a little tough to figure out. I did all the recommended updates before trying to use it. Downloading the software using the Dell online updater program didn't work and I had to do the updates manually... figuring out that the updater software doesn't work and will probably never work took a few hours. That was frustrating... but now the dock works fine.

I purchased this dock with my XPS laptop. It works well with two significant caveats. The Thunderbolt cable needs to be relatively short, and is consequently on the wrong side (left), but to connect to the laptop with its Thunderbolt port on the right keeps either the cord or laptop in the way. Second, my first $300 plus purchase lasted only 14 months, just long enough to be out of warranty. This was the first time I have ever been truly dissatisfied with a Dell product and suppport.

needs more than 1 thunderbolt jack, jacks are in awkward locations relative to each other so the dock doesn't set nicely on desk behind a monitor because of all the cables running out from different locations makes the footprint much wider than the size of the device.

Bought at TB 15 and Dell replaced in with 16. Issues upon issues. I own an IT company too.

TB16 started turning off after about three weeks. It had to be unplugged from power and the XPS15 laptop. Dell service loaded all new PC and TB16 drivers and software updates. This reduced the shut down occurrences, however Dell decided to replace it. FYI, the when Googled, many people have had the same problem.

The TB16 does not work with any webcam I have tried. It causes my XPS 13 9370 to crash. This is a known problem that support has been unable to resolve.

The TB 16 was recommended by a Dell employee via chat to go with the Dell G7 laptop. Well after several issues with USB peripherals dropping I googled the issue and another dell employee mentioned that the TB16 was not compatible with the G7. So I am returning it.

Would not supply enough power to my 7540 precision. It's rated at 240w but only supply's half of that to this model computer. Sending it back, there is another model that supply's the full power. I only wish the dell sales rep that I asked if this would work would have known. But he didn't.

Bought this for pairing with my Dell XPS 15 9570, external thunderbolt backup drives, and 32" BenQ 4K monitor. Everything worked on the first hookup. Ran the firmware update as recommended by Dell Update and have been very happy with it for 3 months now.

It failed to work with my laptop Dell XPS15 - 7590. First it did not provide the power to my laptop Second it gave me blue screen, even after I updated bios and all necessary drivers.

Needs a second HDMI or DP and also slow charges the laptop even with 240W Adapter. Basically have to plug the Thundebolt cable and also a second charger adaptor to laptop. What's the point of docking station if plug 2 cables everyday.

A dock should be simple. I should plug things into it, then I should plug it in to my laptop and those things should work. That is not the case with this dock. At the moment, the problem I'm having is that all of my USB devices stopped working reliably. My USB headset just starts cutting out randomly. My keyboard starts repeating keys. I've had to just plug everything directly into the laptop USB ports. I've had a lot of previous problems with monitors not getting recognized, or only getting recognized after I plug in and unplug a bunch of times. This is genuinely one of the most frustrating and annoying pieces of technology I have ever had the displeasure of using. It's a dock. It should just work, and it doesn't. Do yourself a favor, and avoid this product at all costs.

I purchased the dock for my XPS 15. Reliability is hit or miss, you'll often have to disconnect/restart to get all the plugged-in peripherals working. Also the TB3 cable is beyond short. Plus in my case it actually failed as it came out-of warranty. Obviously not exciting for an expensive product.

mouse and keyboard keeps stuttering connected through this dock. after that, i tried to connect my mouse and keyboard directly to my laptop, they then stopped stuttering.

Will not support 2-32in. 4K monitors. Problem with 4K monitor using HDMI connection. HDMI monitor blurry and would go black if trying to use full screen. Plugging HDMI into computer and other monitor into display port on on thunderbolt has both working correctly.

I have used the docking station to power my laptop and have used it to connect my DVD burner. Everything works as expected; however, I have not explored all it can do. I see no issues and it is a match for the laptop.

When my XPS 15 2in1 is only plugged into the dock during boot it complains that the power adapter is not at least 130W. I purchased the 240W dock because I thought it could fully power the laptop. Why do I also have to use the laptop power adapter?

Works fine but 3 stars because of the short cable which exits from the wrong side of the dock to plug into the laptop. Very frustrating.

This dock looks great in theory, and is even fantastic for short periods of time. Everything connected with just one cable! Admittedly, that cable is only a few inches long and on the opposite side of the only port on the XPS laptop where it can be used, so it will be in the center of your desk and ugly, but at least it seems useful. That is, until you start to use it. It freezes up multiple times per day, taking down every peripheral attached to it. If you're lucky, you can unplug one and plug it back in and have it work again. But most of the time, unplugging/reconnecting just leads to the entire system freezing and requiring a restart. This persists across multiple different OSes, firmware updates, BIOS updates, and every possible setting that can be changed. It also happens across multiple different laptops (three different laptop/dock combos), so it's not just a single bad unit. If you're thinking about buying this, my advice is to just take that money and set it on fire instead. At least that way when it's completely wasted you at least get to enjoy a bit of light first.

Windows 10 gives me a BSOD every other time that I unplug my Dell Precision 5530 from this one, which has persisted across driver updates for my setup. The laptop also quite frequently doesn't detect it as a full fledged charger, but an "insufficient" one. Reconnecting it then helps, unless of course it crashes your laptop when you reconnect.

Worst product ever, I am constantly fighting drivers updates, adjusting settings, only to have it work for a few weeks and then repeat again. I would have thought Dell would have released some updates to make this work, but alas I guess this guy is headed to the trash bin...

The TB16 docking station has worked perfect for my needs. I really Like enjoy the one cable connection that thunderbolt gives you. It has allowed me to actually be willing to use my laptop in other parts of the house without having to worry about the hassle of plugging everything back in. Additionally it makes it really easy to use my work laptop in the comfort of my home workspace with ease. The one issue I did run into with my work device is the USB drivers that I am unable to install due to the limited admin privileges allowed by my workplace.
