A groundbreaking new category in macro filmmaking – Probe Zoom Lens (18-28mm FF).
This innovative series pushes the boundaries of traditional probe lenses, redefining macro cinematography with its fusion of a T8 aperture, wide-angle zoom, and instellar--inspired design. It’s the perfect tool for macro artists, offering unparalleled creative possibilities from new dimensions and perspectives.

The X-tract 18-28mm T8 0° wide-angle probe zoom lens opens up new possibilities for macro photography, providing greater freedom and flexibility in capturing creative shots. Its full-frame design is fully compatible with S35 formats, offering an equivalent focal length of 22-35mm T8 when used in the Arri Alexa 35 Opengate mode, covering popular advertising focal lengths. The probe zoom design allows for seamless focal and perspective adjustments in confined spaces, enhancing the spatial and layered feel of the imagery. The consistent aperture ensures even brightness across all focal lengths.

The X-Tract series features 7 high-refractive index (HRI) and 6 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements, delivering a lightweight design with outstanding optical performance. Its innovative HRI lens distribution ensures image quality and accurate color temperature as fixed lenses, minimizing chromatic aberration and reducing the yellowish tint found in traditional probe lenses. Distortion stays within ±2%, with near-zero distortion at 24mm, offering sharp, clean images and minimal focus breathing.
The X-tract also features an impressive 6mm minimum focus distance, providing exceptional macro photography capabilities. With an IP57 dustproof and waterproof rating, it performs reliably in humid, dusty, and extreme weather conditions.

The X-tract lens offers a 300° focus rotation angle and a parfocal design, ensuring smooth and consistent focus control during dynamic shoots. The micron-level precision allows for seamless focus transitions and improved depth-of-field control. With a maximum magnification ratio of 2.1x, the lens captures fine details in objects such as insect wings, water droplets, grains of sand, and miniature landscapes, offering unprecedented microscopic detail.

Weighing just 1.09kg with a length of 41.5cm and a front diameter of 29.6mm, the X-tract is exceptionally versatile in confined or limited spaces. Its rear-weighted design provides stability, making it easier to balance with tripods, sliders, stabilizers, and robotic arms, minimizing shake and simplifying focus and zoom adjustments. This innovative design reduces the need for extensive post-production stabilization.
