I bought this tripod about a year ago and the feet fell off. I sent it back for repair and when they sent it back to me it was unusable. One of the feet was missing, one had a screw in it and one of the twists for extending the legs was missing. They sent me a replacement Manfrotto which was heavier than I wanted in a tripod for hiking. Not a good experience

This tripod has been tossed around a lot, on airplanes, buses, cars, and trucks, but it still works well and remains sturdy. I bought it in combination with the F-1 ball head, which was pre-mounted and is also sturdy. Someone complained that the Arco-Swiss compatible camera plate had a bolt requiring an allen wrench to attach it to or remove it from a camera. That must have been changed in the model I have because mine has a slot and can be turned with a coin. The bolt appeared at first to be 3/8" but that was just an adapter. I removed it, and there was a 1/4" bolt inside. The set came with a nice case that can hold the tripod with the ball head mounted. Instruction sheets for both the tripod and the ball head were missing from my shipment, but other reviewers had written that the instructions are not very good, so I'm not too concerned about not having them. A hex wrench to adjust tension in leg hinges was supposed to have been included, but was not.

I purchased the F-1128N tripod for my son, who travels frequently in connection with his profession. He typically carries one DSLR and one or two relatively light weight lenses, and often his photography is as much for professional purposes as for personal pleasure. He has needed a tripod that fits into a carry-on bag and that can support a four- to five-pound DSLR/lens combo. The F-1128N meets his requirements in every respect, and has excellent build quality and features, as well. He paired the tripod with a first generation Acra-Tech ball head, thus creating a very light, very versatile and packable support system.

Tripod Replacement Parts I have searched the web looking for a replacement screw for my Flashpoint F-1228 tripod. Unfortunately I can't find the part anywhere. I'm looking for the screw that connects the leg to the base plate. I was hoping one of you might have some experience with this.

This tripod is a real blessing for someone who uses a tripod to hold a camera. If you want to impress others with the name pass this up. If you want to use a tripod for photography and not worry about using it outdoors in weather, sand, mud etc. buy it. It works well. I like to atv and photograph and I try to take care of my equipment, and this is just the ticket for adverse surroundings. The column works well. The legs extend with one fluid motion as do some others. The level dies quickly but can be replaced easily on [@]. If you aren't worried about status and just want a good sturdy tripod buy it you will like it.

The product seemed fine at first but then when I went out on a photo hunt and tried to adjust the legs on it they would not work right and eventually just came apart.

I am taking this tripod with me everywhere. It is light and quick to unfold. Unfortunately the ball head adjustment is not very tight, making the camera sink slightly after adjusting.

Was looking for a lite tripod for night shots and bought the F-1128 over two years ago. Loved everything about it at first. While I didn't use it every day - I did take it on many trips. I had problems with the center column not tightening enough and then while on a night shot while traveling the aluminum center column broke at the seam. The center leg should have been made from carbon fiber. Lesson learned when you go cheap you waste time and money. Now am forced to get a better tripod and went with the Induro. Recommendation spend the money up front.

Overall, a small, very light, low-vibration, sturdy tripod. Been using for over a year with a few minor complaints. Lower leg sections could be sturdier. Twists locks for tightening leg sections get loose (would try snaps on next purchase). Hex bolts attaching legs to top loosen. Unfortunately, one of the rubber spikes (leg tips) came loose and fell off on one leg and there are no replacements to order. So if you have a damaged F-1128 for parts, let me or Adorama know.

Most of the time, I'm not patient enough to fool with a tri-pod. But I'll use this for special shots or projects.

A Carbon Fiber tripod for under 150$, great bang for your buck. The construction feels fairly solid but cheapish. But hey look at the price ? Please read the instruction page that comes with the tripod. Looks like some one wrote the original in Chinese and ran it through an automated translator. Hilarity ensures. The case can take both the tripod + plus F-1 ball head, so that's nice.

I purchased this tripod for a month-long hut-to-hut in the Alps. The quality is not at at the level of Gitzo or Really Right Stuff, but the tripod is a steal for the price. At first glance, it is built along the same design as Gitzo, but at a fraction of the price. The tripod is sturdy enough to hold a Nikon D700 with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens attached. As I do with my much heavier Gitzo tripod and Really Right Stuff ball head, I plan to shoot in mirror up mode for increased sharpness. The case is very nice and accommodates the tripod with F-1 ball head attached.

I was going to buy a Gitzo Decided on the Flashpoint to save money. I'm not at all sorry. It is well made, sturdy and light. I bought a Manfroto pan head so that adds some weight. I haven't owned it that long or used it that much so I can't say how it holds up over the long run. But comes with a good warranty. Can't go wrong for the money. It holds my Pentax K7 with a sigma 150-500mm zoom with no problem. I will use it to photograph stock car races, some nature photography and for portraits. I don't feel I just paid for a name. A good value. I havent discovered any negatives yet.

its reasonably good, but it looks more close to a cheaper equipment, only the leg tubes are carbon fiber, even the central column is made of some sort of metal alloy, its stable, but i have my doubts about durability, if you are looking for a carbon fiber tripod, check other brands, and prepare to spend twice or more the price it cost or go with a magnesium or aluminum. i have bought some other Flashpoint items are they rather "cheapo" things,

Very lightweight Carbon Fiber tripod for the money. Slight flex in very bottom legs if fully extended.

I am mostly a wildlife photographer, so I do alot of walking... several hours at a time. my pack is heavy enough, without having to drag a large heavy tripod around. The Flashpoint F-1128 Carbon Fiber Tripod, fills all my needs.. in a small lightweight, easy to manage package. It`s quick and easy to set up, and the two piece center column, is a wonderful feature. If you`re looking for a good all around tripod, this is it.

An all-purpose tripod. Excellent for scenary, night shots, and portraits. Included documentation is horrible, very confusing especially because this was my first tripod. Fortunately it is simple to use with twist to lock legs and stepwise height adjustment. Case is of good quality, but you'll have to remove the tripod head if you have one.

This is an excellent tripod to carry around. Paired with the F-1 ballhead, it is extremely light. It is sturdy for most purposes and it folds and unfolds quickly. But of course, do not expect Gitzo quality with a $100 carbon fibre tripod. It is not as stable as I wished it would be, but short of strong winds, I don't think it is a big issue. Also, there is the option of not extending the tripod all the way, which would increase stability somewhat. For this money, this tripod can't be beat.

I bought two - one for my brother-in-law for christmas. We are both delighted with them. They are lightweight yet sturdy. I also bought the F3 ball head. Could have gotten away with an F2 I guess. The rubber feet base plus the retractable spike can handle any terrain.I had a lower quality tripod before. What a difference!

I wanted a reasonably priced carbon fiber tripod with good stability and relatively light weight to use with a DSLR on hiking trips. This model suits my needs perfectly. The carrying case is well-made and accommodates the tripod with an attached medium-sized ball head.

This is a good tripod at a GREAT PRICE!!! It is light and solid. The build quality is not on par with Manfrotto (I have a 190XBPRO), but hey, [$] for a Carbon Fiber Tripod!!! The main downside is that the tripod is a bit long when folded consider that the leg has 4 sections.

Terrific Tripod - Great Price
By JOHN S.
I already have a very good carbon fiber tripod. But at more than 6 pounds I rarely take it out to the field because of it’s size and weight. The Flashpoint F-1128 was the perfect solution for me. It handles 99% of my needs at a much smaller size at less than 50% of the weight. Now I never have to regret not taking a tripod out with me. And for the price, buying this was a no-brainer. Great tripod at a terrific price. [...]

• Adorama has studied for many years the needs and wants of the beginner, advanced and professional photographer. All the equipment that bears the Flashpoint name meets these essential qualifications, equipment that is dependable at a fair price. The Flashpoint Carbon Fiber Tripods are yet another fine example that follows in the Flashpoint tradition; high quality tripods that can go the distance. Made to Adorama's specifications, you'll feel the quality the first time you set it up. Leg locks that work! They open and close with ease. Pride of ownership is only a small reason to have one of these fine tripods in your equipment bag.
• Featuring classic European Styling, these Flashpoint tripods have all the features of other carbon fiber tripods, except the high price. Besides its legendary light weight, carbon fiber does not transfer heat like aluminum, but does absorb vibrations. This feature helps to insure sharper images.
• All Flashpoint tripod legs have rubber double-grip twist locks. The center column can be separated into a low column for ground level use. The supplied wrench can adjust the leg friction to match the photographers needs. Leg tips can be set with either a rubber pad or ground spike for rugged terrain.
