Great design, execution, not so much.

Awesome concept but there is a design problem. The bottle holes are too small and instead of sending them back, I am going to try one of the craft stores for a hefty plastic bottle and I will fill them with river rocks.

All water bottles not equal

If you are counting on water bottles, make sure they are skinny and not too tall. The 16 oz with paper thin plastic wall could squeeze in. Not sure why they didn?t oversized a bit to allow for bottle size variations. Still handy. I put a D-ring through the eyelit, and stuck handfuls of metal fittings into the bag since those were plentiful at the factory shoot. Great for holding up my most portable size light stands while using 60? umbrella and large lights. Low price. Handy for things other than water bottles. Some water bottles will fit.

A nice little weight for a good price!

The ONLY reason for 4 starts is they are not quite heavy enough but that?s my fault. Each one fits 4 small bottles of water (or whatever you want to put in the pouches. If you use a few, it?s enough weight to hold down a stand in a light breeze. IF you?re in the studio, they?re plenty heavy to keep a stand from tipping over or the intended use, as a counter balance for a boom arm they work perfectly. I needed something quick and inexpensive and these fit the bill. The stitching on the pouches could be a little sturdier as I ripped a couple of them a bit shoving the water bottles in but, again, I can take responsibility for that as I was in a hurry and not being careful. Overall, a great little bag to help hold things down.

Pockets too small for water bottle

It doesn't fit water bottles. Pockets are too small for a regular water bottle

Just as described. Works great. Gives you flexibility to adjust the weight as you feel is necessary.

poorly made

Put 4 bottles of water in the bag to show the wife. The thing ripped just showing it to her. The eyelet came out of one side.

Nice idea - works

Inexpensive boa that is easily adjusted for amount of counterweight needed. Only a couple of quibbles regarding achieving maximum weight and fit. 4 liter bottles gets close to 9 pounds, not 10, so i added a fifth aluminum bottle with a carabiner for fine adjustment around 10 pounds. Note that the pockets are narrow, so wide bottles will not fit and height if overflap limits the size to 1 liter bottles if you want to cover the bottle tops. The hanging grommet gave way immediately after loading bottles into the carrier, but did not detract from performance - actually easier to carry over my shoulders without the grommet gathering the top loop shorter.

Great idea, poor construction

Though the product idea is good, its construction is very poor. The grommet falls out of the strap with a light tug. There is only one row of stitching holding the strap to each bag, and only one row of stitching along the bags' outer edges. Fortunately, I have a sewing machine, so I got some heavy duty thread and sewed up the bags much more securely. And I put much more robust grommets on the straps. An ideal size water bottle is the 700ml Smart Water bottle.

Highly reccomended!

I do a lot of location shoots and a boom stand here in Florida is a must. Just fill this up with sand and you're good.

Great Idea

Can carry water bottles to location drink when done. I would use just water in the bottles as that is less messy. Other than that great simple idea.

Overall pretty good

So far these have done okay for us. We bought 20 of them for our tripods for picture days to keep them from blowing over in the Southern CA wind. They are a little too long, but they aren't really made for tripods I don't think. I like being able to fill water bottles with sand to put in them so the sand doesn't leak. However, make sure to duct tape the bottle completely so it doesn't break.

Not as messy as sand

I can't wait to take it on location. It will be much less messy than sand in bags that can tend to leak out. If this leaks, I just have to wipe it up!

Who needs a little extra weight?

I use mine on my lightweight tripod when the wind kicks up and you want a little extra protection. I usually use water (freshly filled in case you get thirsty) bottles instead of sand for weights! An inexpensive gadget! What photographer isn't a gadgeteer?

Great bag!

Being a Theatre Tech, I've been around sand bags for years. This bag is unique in that it's designed to hold 4 bottles. I found that 24oz. Pepsi bottles filled with sand fit perfectly. While it would be OK to use water bottles, or Pepsi-filled bottles, liquid does not weigh as much as sand does. I bought a 50lb. bag of sand at [@]for less than $4, and have filled 16 bottles for my 4 sand bags, and probably have enough for the 2 additional sand bags I'm ordering today. I would not use water bottles though, as the plastic is too thin & could rupture.

It works just as intended!

• Made of nylon fabric, with two heavy duty zippers on each side of the saddle bag to increase strength and resist leakage. These bags may be filled on location with sand, etc.
• Also holds up to 4 water bottles. (you may use water bottles but bag itself is not intended to be filled with water!)
• Always use a sand bag on the tripod base or a light stand when using a boom arm.
