Amazing product for the price. I've captured some seriously stunning shots using this Teleconverter. Everything from Moon and astro shots, to just close-ups. Only downside is that my camera refuses to use AF while the Teleconverter is attached. So be prepared to get used to MF if you buy this teleconverter.

This teleconverter works well for the price. It doesn't modify EXIF data though. Overall it does what it claims to do and with a sharp lens it gets the job done. I use mine with the Canon 55-250mm F4-5.6 lens. Now there is one slight issue I discovered and it has to do with why people are having issues with autofocus. It is that you really need to make sure your lens and the teleconverter are seated well. If you don't, the autofocus won't work and may sometimes drop into manual focus. I also use a Viltrox EF to EF-M adapter as well to mate it to my Canon M50. If you get too dark the autofocus will be a bit temperamental. I don't see it as being a problem for people with autofocus that can go to -4 to -6 EV for the autofocus system. Just anything around -2EV like my M50 will have issues if it gets darker than a really cloudy day.

Autofocus won’t work and even in the manual focus the image quality is greatly compromised when using the extender

The 2X Fotodiox teleconverter worked excellently on my Canon lenses. I was pleasantly surprised at the sharpness as previous teleconverters I've used in the past reduced sharpness noticeably. Great product and well worth the wait as it was out of stock when I ordered it.

An adapter for 2x Focal length use but I loose auto focus because then lens I usually use pushes out the F stop to F11.2 beyond the range of the Eos 7D 's AF system. For the price this is a good buy!

It does the job it was designed to do. It's not as good as the Canon 2x extender but costs 1/4 as much.

I have searched - no exaggeration here - for years for a 2X converter that truly can help me zoom even closer than my 300 mm Zoom lens will allow. Finally I have found one that is reasonable in price and performs perfectly. I am thankful for Adorama's offering the lens magnifier that helps me attain this, without having to mortgage my house to be able to afford it. Adorama, you're a life-saver!

I had thought, since all Canon lens possess the same mount, that if one lens would fit, that all lens would fit. NOT SO. Very disappointingly. Let’s talk about a return. Tom Sashko

Works good at close distance. The only problem with this teleconverter is there is blurring the further you have to zoom in on the image. I purchased this to use with my Canon EOS Rebel T6i camera. The lense I use the most is the 55-250mm. Being a beginner, I am sure I just need to make an adjustment somewhere with my settings to get quality photos. Not good if you want to snap a quick shot as you have to manually focus the lense.

I would have appreciated a bit more in the way of instructions, as I had a difficult time detaching the lens from the camera body. Had to search for the instructions on the interwebs. Only drawback in limited use is that the auto focus has not worked. This is a minor issue.

If you think cookout photography starts and stops with pictures of meat roasting on a grill, you're wrong. From food photography to portraits and candids, Cookouts are a great place to try many different kinds of photography.

The Fotodiox 2x Teleconverter for Canon cameras is a precision optical component designed to expand your photographic capabilities. This premium quality 2x teleconverter, effectively doubles the focal length of the lens it's used with and maintains the resolution and contrast of any fine optic. The teleconverter will multiply the focal length of the existing lens by 2x and will cut back the amount of light by 2 f/stops. For example, using a 2x teleconverter with a 300 mm lens will effectively increase the focal length to 600 mm and a lens set to f/2.8 will now be f/5.6.
A maximum aperture of f/4 or greater is required in order to fully utilize the autofocus capabilities. Please be aware that AF will work properly only if there is enough light and contrast on the subject to activate the camera's AF sensors. Manual focusing is recommended when using lenses with a smaller open f-stop value than those given above. A teleconverter is a portable, high-quality and versatile accessory that's well worth having in your camera bag!
