The Lightsphere broadcasts a nice quality of light. Easy to use, and collapses small to fit in my bag. Excellent off-camera flash modifier.

I use it at any event on my bounce flash. It gives that nice soft look. It is a little bulky, especially for an already full bag like mine, but it is always in my camera bag because it works. I think its most effective when doing individual portraits not in a studio or at an event and when your on the go.

A friend of mine uses this product and I loved how his images looked from a Photoshoot we did together. I bought the Gary Fong diffuser and tried it out for the first time at a baby shower, and I just love it!! I plan to sell my other diffusers that's been sitting in my drawer because I just have no need for them now that I have the perfect one :)

After borrowing a V1 from a friend I bought one of my own for a recent wedding and everybody was extremely pleased with the results. The church didn't have great lighting and I used this as a standalone lightsource as well as in a multi-flash setup leveraging the camera TTL. Both scenarios worked well. I didn't have any of the issues with the lightsphere coming off my Canon flashes (580EX & 430EX) but occasionally the weight of the lightsphere would change the angle of my flash (but only when I had the camera hanging down - not while I was shooting).

I was told to buy a gary fong from a fellow photographer so I started researching this new collapsible one. I've only used it for a month, but have been very pleased with the difusion of light it produces. I've used it outdoors for a large group photo shoot at dusk and it did an amazing job. I also used it indoors with decent lighting in the room and was able to get perfect lighting with no overexposure or shadows. Love it!

Soft even light, great color balance. The fact that it is collapsible makes it very portable even though it is bulkier than other diffusers.

Works fantastic in small to medium rooms where you can get wall/ceiling bounce. It will lose effectiveness in large auditoriums with very high ceilings. I use it with a 430exII. Fits easily and stays put. Doesn't take up too much room in the camera bag.

Great diffuser when used correctly. Like all the other diffusers it has its limitations. Find those limitations as it pertains to your line of work and you will do just fine.

Great for quick moving events. I have used it with up close wildlife with great results. A little bit heavy for flash head when at an angle. Straight up or 90 degrees are not a problem. Once you become familiar with it, it's quick and easy to put on and take off quickly. Videos on their website show it's different set-ups. I'm a fan.

Its a great soft light in the subject with the Gary Fong! Its a little heavy to the flash head and in some cases it force the flash head to other angles! Nothingh important but happen! For the other aspect its great to carry, good construction and the most important, the soft light that creat its great! Recomended!

I have used this only a couple of times but is has made a difference in the amount of shadows I have to deal with. I used it with a green screen and it worked really well as the only light source.

Used this indoors and outdoors with a speedlight.... And compared to another camera setup we used with a soft box on a speedlight...,the FONG was AMAZING!! I won't shoot again without it!!! Great fill light even outdoors!

it gives the extra light you need in shooting low light. however, i was shooting a wedding and it popped off 3 times! and velcro snapped - not good , not to mention embarrassing!!

It works very well if it would only stay in place but keeps falling off so not very handy in practise.

I love the way this softens shadows when used for portraits, but I have had some trouble with it falling off the flash on occasion. Also, it has tipped the flash down when pointed straight up as recommended. I remedied this by turning the flash around 180 degrees so it can't fall over.

Great Product !! The tutorials are very helpful. If you occasionally shoot portriats but don't want to invest in a light system, this is your answer.

Although this product does what it say it does, the material quality in the hand doesn't feel as good as it advertise. The collapsable sphere is good but the dome part cannot be connect while the sphere is collapsed. Therefore, it is not that small when you collapse it. In addition, the parts are also quite difficult to put together (might be loose over time - don't know yet) which mean it may take you 1-2 minutes at least to put together the flash and the sphere. And the moment may have passed!

Well he did it again. Creats soft light or with the added grid Gary offers can creat a pretty good spot light. Very easy to use and fold up. His best yet.

It's best attributes are being collapsible for transport and being large when in use. Won't leave home without it.

I bought this product mainly to take portrait pictures of pets. It does correct the eye color but it isn't as easy to collapse as the Gary Fong video shows. I do wish the whole lightshere was cloudy instead of clear for a softer flash fill.

This is 100% better than using sppedlight alone. The light is not so direct and harsh creating hot spots on the shot. Bouncing light off the ceiling or built-in white catchlight reflector helps but not nearly as good as this product. I had absolutely no problem with the weight causing my flash to fall out of position. I have used it in both the 90 degree position like Mark Wallace demonstrated and the 45 degree position. The dome slips on the 42AM flash pretty easy but the 58 is a bit wider. It goes on with a little more effort but no big deal. I just work one side of the time. I can't get the light sphere to collapse with the dome on but I don think it was intended to. I did try bubble wrap like one photographer mentioned and to my surprise worked very well but after buying a 2000 camera, 1600 lens the idea of using bubble wrap to soften the light was not priceless. The appearance of professionalism is sometimes with an extra 60 bucks. However, he/she does get the Alton Brown award for photography. I do have to adjust the exposure compensation a 1/2 to 1 stop plus if my distance is grater than 10 feet from subject. I can recommend this product without hesitation or reservation.

I use the Gary Fong collapsible for portraits at the moment.... It's a bit heavy though, and makes my flash fall 90 degree position sometimes. My camera is so big to begin with, I'm finding it passing the tipping point of bulk when I put it on. Also, it's a bit tough to get on the flash, and pops off sometimes. Overall though, I'm glad I bought it, and would recommend it to others. It creates wonderful, soft lighting, and bounces great!

Since it is universally made for most flashes I find it harder to put on my Canon 580EX. Hopefully it would stretch a bit after some use. I think it is expensive.
