• The next generation Carbon Fibre tripod, the Carbon 6X incorporates an improved tubing, that is stronger, lighter and as resistant as its 12 layer predecessor. Carbon '6X' is manufactured using a complex 3-D process, which weaves 6 layers of carbon fibre into smooth, solidly constructed tubes. The ALR Anti-Rotation Leg system makes it quick and easy to open and close the tripod.
Simply turn all of the locking rings at once and the whole leg can be pulled out in seconds. These, and many other innovative features, characterise Gitzo's carbon tripods and are yet another example of why so many consider them to be the best tripods in the world.

The Gitzo G1158G carbon fibre 4-section tripod has a maximum height of 124cm (48.8"), and weighs only 1.24 kg (2.7 lbs) and is 45cm (17.7 in) long. - Anti-Rotation Leg (ALR) System:
• The Anti-Rotation Leg (ALR) system makes it quick and easy to open and close the tripod. Simply turn all of the locking rings at once and the whole leg can be pulled out in seconds. - "H.I.S." (Hybrid Interconnecting System):
• Mountaineer tripods are constructed using a "screw thread and adhesive" dual jointing technology pioneered by Gitzo. Called "H.I.S." (Hybrid Interconnecting System), this construction technique provides greater strength and stability. - 1mm Gitzo 6X Carbon Fiber Tube:
• Gitzo was able to develop a six-crossed multilayer carbon fiber 30 percent lighter than the previous 1.5mm generation that features the same exceptional performance of stability and vibration absorption and unbeatable quality. - Performance Type:
• Performance design allows the legs to be set individually at 24½, 55½ and 90½ to cover every angle you want to shoot - Stabilizing Counterweight Hook:
• Redesigned built-in, spring-loaded retractable hook on the bottom of the center column provides a place to hang a stabilizing counterweight such as camera, sand or water bags. - Geared Column:
• The gear mechanism allows for precise adjustment to the height of the column. An anti-rollback system keeps heavy equipment safely supported and can be disengaged by pressing the secondary lever while winding down.
