In an age of motorized gimbals, this is still an incredible piece of equipment to own. Works really well with my Canon 5D Mark IV. It’s fairly easy to set up after you have gotten the hang of it, and easy to operate once you’ve practiced the in’s and outs. There will be lots of trial and error, deciding how much weight is required to balance your stabilizer. I strongly advice you to keep your “drop test” time at 2 1/2 seconds. The drop time is really important, so don’t cheat on the drop count and use a timer on your phone. I’m really impressed with the build quality. The material is really strong, and the locking mechanisms are durable. The HD-PRO extends like the HD-4000 but has a similar head as the Devin Graham Signature edition. Being able to adjust the balance with the two “forward/backward” and “left/right” knobs makes setting up the Glidecam a heck of a lot faster, especially when you have to change the focal length of a zoom lens. Overall, a great tool! Be sure to practice setting it up and moving with the Glidecam. Have fun! Shipped from the U.S. to Canada in less than 48-hours. Thanks Adorama!

I’m still learning how to smooth out my shots, but I’m happy overall with the improvement over shooting handheld. I’d definitely recommend this Glidecam!

What sets the Glidecam HD-PRO Handheld Stabilizer apart is its culmination of twenty-five years of industry-leading innovation, offering a full-featured, hand-held camera stabilizer that's both affordable and professional-grade. This meticulously designed stabilizer combines the best features of the popular Glidecam HD-Series with high-end professional features typically found on more elaborate body-mounted systems.
Designed to accommodate film and video cameras weighing up to 10 lbs (4.53 kg), the Glidecam HD-PRO is both lightweight and rugged. It's engineered to transform shaky, hard-to-watch footage into hypnotically smooth, professional-grade video. With the Glidecam HD-PRO, your camera seems to float, always balanced and isolated from any undesirable hand motions. This allows for free movement - panning, tilting, booming, or running - without any camera instability or shake.
The Glidecam HD-PRO is so effective that it allows for incredibly smooth and graceful shots, even in extreme conditions like running up and down stairs or traversing rugged terrain. For normal shooting scenarios, like walking or slowly moving the camera around a subject, the results are equally impressive.
The Glidecam HD-PRO features a precision Camera Balance Platform (X-Y Head or Top Stage) that includes a quick-release, no-tools, drop-in Dovetail Camera Plate, Brass Alignment pin, Spring Loaded Quick Release Plate Lock, and Push Button Quick Release. This allows for quick attachment or removal of your camera. Ergonomic, fine-tuning control knobs enable quick and precise adjustment of the Camera Balance Platform's front-to-back and side-to-side movement, ensuring swift adjustment of the system's horizontal balance.
The Glidecam HD-PRO also boasts a unique, proprietary, precision, no-tools, Three-Axis Gimbal with adjustable axis convergence controls. This allows all three axes to intersect for proper operational alignment. The Dynamic Base Platform is uniquely designed to manually expand or contract, enabling easy adjustment of the system's dynamic balance or to increase or decrease the system's rotational pan inertia. The Glidecam HD-PRO Dynamic Base Platform also features a 1/4" mounting hole for monitor attachment.
In essence, the Glidecam HD-PRO Handheld Stabilizer is a versatile, professional, high-quality tool that offers sturdy and durable stabilization for a wide range of cameras, making it an essential piece of equipment for any videographer.
