Great for non professional use

Arrived promptly. Item was as described. Significantly better audio quality than my Canon built-in camera mic. My only concern is the power indicator which lights up only temporarily as the power is switched to "ON". It is impossible to tell whether or not the battery has expired while the item is in current operation.

Mic works well

Improve the audio quality of your videos using the H&A Professional On-Camera Shotgun Microphone with Shock Mount. The microphone provides a greater reach than a built-in microphone and offers a 90-120 Degree pickup angle adjustment. It is compatible with select Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and other cameras and has an integrated cold shoe with a mount that isolates vibrations. The cold shoe also has a 1/4"-20 socket for mounting on tripods. Built around a pre-polarized condenser element with Super-cardioid polar pattern and a 40 Hz - 16 kHz frequency response, it is powered by a single CR2 battery and has a 3.5 mm microphone male adapter for connectivity. To reduce the unwanted sounds from gusts or other airstreams, this mic includes a foam windscreen and to protect sensitive parts form elements, the electronics are encapsulated into lightweight and durable aluminum housing with a black anodized finish.
