Great on paper. Small size, relatively wide aperture, metal build. And in most cases, it produces great results. But in high contrast, there's significant purple fringing, visible without zooming in, and the bokeh balls can be outlined in yellow or green. Better off with Samyang or Rokinon 85/1.4. A bit bigger and heavier, but almost twice as fast, no obvious fringing, and half the money.

I wanted a 90mm lens for portrait and landscape work. I don’t care so much about autofocus, so this seemed like an interesting choice to me. I wasn’t able to find many reviews on this lens, but I decided to pull the trigger anyway. I’ve only had the lens for a couple of days, but so far I’m happy. Build quality is excellent and both the aperture ring and focus feel tight and very smooth. Color rendition is good and the lens is sharp. To my eye it’s very sharp at f/4 and above, and only gets slightly softer all the way open at f/2.4. I also like that the lens is much smaller than the Fuji 90mm f/2 and a little more than half the weight. Here’s another issue: if you want to take photographs that look like what everyone else is doing, then you should use the same equipment in the same way as everyone else. But if you want your work to stand out, it’s nice to start with some glass that gives a bit of a different look. I think this lens will do that for you.
