I think the main downside of this lens is its weight. It's honestly too heavy to be an everyday carry or a travel lens. If you were to ask me whether you should get it if you can only afford one lens-then yes, absolutely, because it's the only zoom lens available for the X2D2. However, if you're willing to spend a bit more to get two lenses, I'd say it's a no-brainer: getting two primes, like the 55mm and the 38mm, is a much better setup than just buying this one. But again, if you're strictly limited to one lens, this is the one to go with

Received this lens after a long and frustrating pre-order wait. Generally satisfied with the lens. Autofocus is very fast with the X2D II and it is a good travel lens. It is not fast enough to replace my 90mm, but it works well. I've noticed some vignetting at full zoom with certain filters, but that is likely due to the filters, rather than the lens.
