Good for focusing....
Helpful but not the way it's suggested...
Especially when I need critical focus doing an interview... or when working in bright light - I need to check to see if I'm really in focus... The magnifier is great for the... The elastic band is weak & stretched out & serves no purpose... so I use the magnifier when needed .. never on camera as seen in the sales photo..

Holds loupe fast to LCD
However, requires removal of camera neck strap to mount (each time you mount it). Hopefully, you're using a strap with quick disconnects; if not, using this would be difficult. I see that one can mount it around the lens via the sides and that works without removing the camera strap, but then it has less of a good fit (and is not fit as described on the package)

Bought this instead of EVF
Love my Sony hx50 as a back up to my OMD EM5. It is a very flexible point and shoot and a compact ulta zoom. I only struggle in bright sunlight w/o a EVF. Sony wanted more for the EVF than what I paid for the camera. The Loupe and strap is a far less expensive work around. The elastics impede nothing and hold the loupe in place nicely.

Easy to use
This is convenient when using a tripod outdoors in sonny locations shooting in live view. I am able to review focus much easier.

Perfect. Just what I expected
This is simple and easy to use. My old eyes make it difficult to see the LV in bright daylight. This is a simple remedy that leaves one hand free ( so I can drive ) ;)

Works, but a bit clumsy to use.
I use this to secure the Hoodman Loupe to the LCD of my DSLR for video shooting. To use it, I found I had to change my camera strap. Once that was done, I found it worked well. It is a necessity for ourdoor shooting and does hold the Loupe in place. I can pull it away when I need to use the viewfinder and then replace it. All in all it does work and is the best option for the price.

Should be included with HoodLoupe
Straps do hold th HoodLoupe in place and works great. If you are shooting HD with your SLR, this is a must. Worked great recording football halftimes.
