Review Summary

I’ve used a number of 360 cameras over the years, and this is (by far) the best. Good: It works, has a great form factor, and the editing software is remarkably efficient (especially when overcapturing). Bad: The user interface on the camera is terrible, the on camera screen is virtually unreadable outdoors, and there is no way to use an external microphone. (Then again, all of the competitive products I’ve used have the same issues.) The lack of an external mic is a major issue for me, which is why it’s only a 4-star review.

The product came sooner than anticipated, which was certainly appreciated. The device functions well. I would recommend ordering extra batteries to extend your shooting time.

It’s pretty good. Capturing video is fairly easy. Uploading it as a 360 video can be challenging - I’m still trying to figure out how to do that from an iPhone on vacation, or I’ll have to wait to return home to do it from a PC... I bought this to document our family vacation.

Had this camera for about a week now! First thing is in all the reviews everything we seen said it was geared more towards Apple. We are Windows users and have had zero problems with editing. But let me say this we do watch a lot of YouTube demos on products we dont just go by products manuals. Also we are complete novices with photography and videography just now getting into it as a fun side hobby. This camera is Great! Only reason we do not give it a 5 star is that it does not have a jack for external mic. and sound is only ok.

I love and enjoy using my insta360, i just dont like is the invisible selfie stick yes its invisible but there is a shadow that is covering the shot below it.

I've had this set for about three weeks. The camera takes amazing pics and video. The software is very good compared to most. There are two issues: 1) The iPad app only works in portrait mode and only in the top-up orientation. This means when the camera is plugged in, you need to hold the iPad up because of the cable. Which in turn, means you only have one hand to do the editing. 2) This is the deal breaker. The camera display is so dim it is unusable outside on all but the most cloudy day. This has resulted in a ton of missed shots, or pics when I thought I was shooting video. And a few times, a dead battery because the video was recording when I thought it was off. The dive case makes this even worse: the screen is not visible in the shade.... or underwater. Adorama (AWESOME!) replaced the unit, thinking it was a one-off flaw. Second unit is just as bad. I've contacted the manufacturer. They're in Asia and only available 9pm to 6am EST. When they did reply, they said "use the app". Well, I bought this to be an action cam. If I wanted to have my phone or iPad with me, I'd use them to capture pics and vids.

I received my Insta360 very quickly. So far I am really impressed with the camera. The bundle with the selfie stick is a must have. I used it a lot for the last week on a few trips and it has been great. It doesn’t appear to be that great in low light which can be expected but it performs well in well lit locations. You can create some very unique still photos and videos. The only con that I have found so far is that the lens are not protected very well and therefore I am being extra careful with it, which does not really match the “action camera” as advertised.

Do not buy if you have an older phone and need Bluetooth connection with your phone. The Android app would not install on my Note 4. Says incompatible. You can still use your PC or Mac with the corresponding software. Also, your phone has to have 5G. The quality isn't so good but passable for casual use. You can have some crazy fun videos with it, just don't expect quality that's better than your low=end smart phone.

I really like the size, user friendly, it is fun tu use and share the videos you do with it. I give it 4 Stars just because the final videos could be a little bit better in quality terms but for the price i think it is fine. After all it is a consumer camera not a pro one so it is ok.

Works great. I just wish the photos were a little more sharper, but what can you expect for a product at this price point.

This camera is amazing! The thing you can do with it is astonishing and the stabilization is superior to all others. I love this camera, although I scratched both lenses when the extended Selfie stick cracked and caused the camera to hit the concrete. I have sent them both in to Insta360's customer service and hopefully it will be covered under as a defective issue. But the camera itself is amazing!

This device is very light and good for travel. The idea to take video first and modify it the way you want is brilliant! I already had a 360 camera but it is nothing comparing to this.

Snap into the Drifter accessory and let your camera take flight. Airborne slow-mo from a camera that shoots in every direction at once. You’ve never seen angles like this before.
TimeShift lets you highlight key moments with cinematic slow-mo, or speed things up with a stabilized hyperlapse. All in the app.
Slow-mo Bullet Time shots turn heads like nothing else. The ONE X pulls it off in stunning 3K @ 100fps and with a full 360° field of view.
