Travel tripod that has height

Several cons hold this from being a premium feeling travel tripod. First is the choice of some materials. The plastic parts used feel airy, i.e. not dense, so do not feel very strong. The center column locking knob is one such, and should not have been since it is a frequently used part. The quick release plate included feels very cheap as well, like it was a low grade aluminum or tin that was painted; not a major issue since for most this stays on the camera body for most or other are already using their own QR plate. On my tripod, the sticker was not applied well and had evident bubbling under, again minor detail, but if you're trying to earn points with the customer small things like this add up. Back on the center column locking screw, it is retractable, but even with that it still protrudes pretty noticeably; thankfully not enough to get caught. The tripod bag is average, heavy zippers (not YKK), slim with a shoulder strap. Wish it was more form fitting, it has a lot of room on the ends. The best part about this tripod though is the height you can get. Even without the center column extended it is taller than most other travel tripods that are full extended. This is a big advantage in terms of stability since you lose a lot of stability with the center column extended. In the event it needs to be extended when locked, it feels pretty stable. It is tall, over 70" with the tripod head. All this in a small package. Because of the triangular shape of the center column circumference is about that of a water bottle, making it easy to transport without the case. If you need to pack it, it should fit in most bags if you remove the tripod head and not take up a lot of space.
