Kirk produces excellent quality products with attention to fit and finish. I recently purchased my fourth Kirk L bracket, one each for four different DSLR’s and they have performed very well.

A pleasurable addition to my equipment, making it very easy and accurate to go from Horizontal to vertical. Going without it now would extend my fiddling time for set ups and I never seem to be with enough time now. It makes life a little bit easier. Appears built really well and will last way beyond the time to keep this camera model.

Very bit as good as the RRS brackets. Even gives with a Allen wrench ticked into the bottom so you always have it handy for your tripod or to tighten it. I've used Kirk for years, for my D600, D610, D750, D810 and D850.

Read about all of the L brackets and very happy I chose this one. Fits my D850 perfectly as well as the plates I use. Ample room for cords.

I bought this bracket to use with my new D850 and my Acratech ball head and though it seemed a little tight with the locking lever clamp, as the owner of a previous Kirk L-Bracket I went ahead and started to calibrate all my lenses. Disastrous results ensued as the clamp let loose and dumped the camera and lens on the floor. The fit of the bracket is NOT universal as it interferes with the clamp's detent pin and does not allow it to lock. Buyer beware! Repairs to camera and lens are expected to cost over $700.00USD.

I have not used this bracket yet since the d850 is on back order. However I have owned the Kirk L bracket for the d700 and d800. Both brackets are light weight, very well made and have performed without problem for years on each camera. My only gripe with Kirk is for them to stop using the annoying Allen wrench captive screw and go to a slotted captive screw that can e tightened and loosened with a coin. I don't have to remove the bracket often, but I do for some applications and having to hunt for the Allen wrench is annoying. There does, however, seem to be some sort of a wrench slot on the underside of the bracket in the d850 bracket.
