Given the rule that you should never shoot a serious picture with a flash on camera, sometimes it's the only practical way to get a shot. This things does what it was made to do and does it well. Easy to set up, light weight, durable, though watch out when opening that you are very gentle with the support struts as they can be easily broken.

Well designed easy to use. Comes with a carrying case. Just like a bigger soft box with a baffle inside to help diffuse the light. Results are great.

The unit does exactly what you expect: provide soft, diffused light from a portable flash, and do it within the confines of a 8.5" x 8.5" area. You need to understand and expect what this size will do for you, in which case you'll probably like it. The construction is good overall, and the folding mechanism is handy. I'm not convinced the "lean" (the bias toward one side) is ideal, but it works. The color balance of the white fabric is neutral. Niggles: 1. The front diffuser panel, which is removable, is cumbersome to attach, and doesn't attached with Velcro. This seems like an oversight. For what its worth, the light is fine without this front attachment, as it merely provides another layer of diffusion to avoid hot spots. Note the front diffuser will eat up another stop of light in relation to having it off. 2. The rubber strap for attaching to the flash head could have a *tiny* more stroke to accommodate the smaller flashes that are now commonplace. I have an Olympus FL-600R, and it *barely* attaches to it, occasionally falling off through normal use because the strap is a hair too long. This won't matter for anything like a Nikon SB600 or larger.
