In the age of coated lenses and filters this is a shining example of why not to acquire an uncoated filter. This filter is almost impossible to keep smudge free. It is a magnet for smudges and is a constant expensive reminder never to purchase an uncoated filter in the future. I tried Breakthrough and they are coated 100mm filters.

I bought this one for the Lee name and after using other brand ND circular filters. After receiving it I realized it is not multicoated when I had a difficult time removing fingerprints. In this day and time I believe that multicoating for protecting against smudges and reflections is a must. Other competitors have it on their square filters, don't know why Lee doesnt

I ordered these on the strength and history of the Lee filter name. I have owned filters of various types including ND filters by other quality brands for many years. I took the chance on the square filter for convenience sake and ordered the Lee ProGlass 10 stop filter for more than $. After receiving the lens I removed it from the box to inspect it and after leaving a smudge on the glass I attempted to clean it with some difficulty and realized it is not coated in a similar fashion to my dozens of other relatively expensive filters. This is the proposed flagship of Lee filters. No protective coating for fingerprints etc? I then looked for a mated gradient and finding none emailed Lee filters only to be advised that their resin gradients were of high quality. If the resin is of a similar quality why tout the glass as a huge step up? I urge all to take this into consideration if they are considering taking the jump into square filter land.

Very nice quality with no real color shifting. Great option of flexibility with Big Stopper (10 stop) for choosing shutter speeds to suit conditions. Like the seal around edges to reduce light leaks.

Under the trusted name of LEE Filters, the ProGlass 100x100mm IRND 3 Stop 0.9 ND Glass Filter is a high-quality, durable, and effective tool for photographers and filmmakers alike. Originally developed to meet the rigorous demands of the movie industry, this versatile neutral-density filter is now accessible to the broader photographic community, offering enhanced image control and precision.
The ProGlass IRND range, including this 3-stop 0.9 ND filter, boasts a multi-coated coating that significantly reduces reflections and glare. This feature ensures improved image quality and color accuracy, making it a reliable choice for professionals seeking to capture crisp, vibrant visuals.
One of the standout features of this filter is its infrared suppression capability. By blocking both infrared and ultraviolet pollution, it ensures that blacks remain pure and clean, while colors retain their punchiness and vibrancy. This feature is particularly beneficial in preventing unwanted color casts and maintaining image sharpness.
The ProGlass 100x100mm IRND 3 Stop 0.9 ND Glass Filter is designed to fit snugly into the filter holder, reducing the risk of light leaks. While this model does not include a foam seal, it should be used in the slot closest to the lens for the most secure fit.
This filter is not only compatible with neutral density grads and polarizing filters but also enhances their performance, offering even greater control of the in-camera image. Whether you're shooting in bright conditions or aiming for a wider aperture or slower shutter speed, this filter is an invaluable asset for achieving your desired results.
