I purchased and received this lens, several months ago from Adorama. Initially, I used it on my Leica M8.2. It's now used exclusively as a true wide, 24mm lens, on my Leica M9 (also, purchased from Adorama).

Leica’s 24mm f/1.4 Summilux is one of only two such lenses in production—the other one is the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II. How does this fast wide angle lens fare? Proof of performance: Shot wide-open at f/1/4 with the 24mm f/1.4 Summilux-M this env...

Truly, the Leica M9 is a camera unlike any other. Is this the rangefinder camera Leica aficionados have been waiting for?

Building on the success of the original Leica X and X-2, Leica has upped the ante by unveiling a pair of new non-interchangeable-lens X models that both incorporate 16.2 MP CM...
The Leica 24mm f/1.4 SUMMILUX-M is very high-speed and compact lens which gives photo- journalists a new tool for their work. The lens is ideal for available light photography. Like the 21mm f/1.4, it consists of ten lenses in eight groups. Until the advent of state-of-the-art blank-press methods for aspherical lenses, it was not possible to create these new Summilux-M lenses.
Hand assembled in Solms Germany, this meticulous craftsmanship also ensures long term reliability even in challenging conditions. The correction of color imperfections requires great deal of effort and to that end this 24mm lens incorporates five separate lenses with anomalous partial dispersion.
As a result, vignetting and distortion, the parameters traditionally difficult to control in fast wide-angle lenses, are corrected so well that they are hardly noticeable in practice. Even at an f-stop of 2.8, in effect, only natural vignetting is present.
