Small, compact and amazing quality. Bokeh, especially the transition into the focused area, is outstanding, and the images this makes are worth every penny. I can see every detail this lens puts out on the 40 megapixels of my M10R and each one is great. I could easily use this lens for the rest of my life.

This is the lens I have been saving for. I moved from the Zeiss 35mm to the Leica 35 Summarit and finally purchased the 35mm Summicron. I never regretted it. The quality is everything one reads about, I think the f/2 has wonderful bokeh, and I do believe I noticed a difference between the Summicron and Summarit lenses (though the Summarit was a lens I liked very much). This lens is worth the price and hype.

This lens is my preferred focal length at 35mm and is usually permanently mounted on my M10. Has the perfect price/size/performance ration that deems it my all around - daily lens. My choice as the best combo for one camera one lens EDC.

I have used Leica from 1957, then an M3. Then I got and M2, so I had 50mm f2 Summicron , and a 35mm f2,then, 90mm f2. I went to the Leica School in N.Y. and I got an M4. Leica gave a M2 motor drive to try. I used them all with the Viewer with the 200,and the 400mm lenses. Not one Golfer could hear the cameras. I have used Leica for years. They never let me down in over 50 years of News Photography. Now I am USING DIGITAL, and so far the M10 with the 35mm f2 SUMMICRON-M ASPHERICAL Lens are GREAT, just like Leica makes all their Cameras and Lenses. Richjard F. Owens, Wells,Maine

The 35 f2 is and, likely, will remain a standard for the Leica M. I've owned this and the previous version (now, my wife's primary lens) for 15 years. It is light but very resiistent to damage and wear, easy to focus and produces sharp images. A metal lens hood should be inckuded for all Leica M lenses, given what Leica charge for them.
