While it is one of the more expensive stabilization options i think the price is well worth the investment. Ive been running a Ronin M for a couple of years now with a media company so when it came time for me to make a personal selection i already knew the Ronin and its strengths quite well... I knew its weeknesses too. In terms of a smooth image both products (the Ronin and the Helix) work very well. They are both very capable of getting "the shot". The main difference is for the oporator. The Ronin kills my back due to the distance between the handles and the inability to tilt the camera without tilting the entire rig with both hands. The Helix is far more comphortable which allows me to focus on the shot and not my back.

We've used 3 different Helixes from the Jr model to Full size magnesium with various cameras. The design makes it ultra light weight, shoots at eye level and can be set on a table or ground WITHOUT a stand unlike virtually all other gimbal systems. Helix is more expensive than some other systems like Ronin, but it's truly worth every penny. It's far superior.
