Let the New Petzval 80.5mm f/1.9 MKII Bokeh Control Art Lens for Canon EF, Black, transport you back to the 19th century while keeping you firmly grounded in the present. This lens is a modern-day reinvention of the original Joseph Petzval portrait lens, designed to be compatible with both analogue and digital SLR cameras.
This Art Lens is specifically designed for the Canon EF body, but it also offers extended compatibility with Sony E mount, Fuji X, Micro 4/3, Canon RF, Nikon Z cameras, and more when used with an adapter. It allows you to capture the authentic vintage aesthetics of the 19th century using your contemporary SLR cameras.
The prime lens with an 80.5mm focal length is perfect for capturing natural-looking portraits. Its unique Bokeh Control Ring allows for greater experimentation, enabling you to sweep from sharp to soft with small apertures rendering razor sharpness and large ones rendering stunning swirly bokeh effects.
Optimized for both still and motion photography, this lens features a helicoid focusing mechanism and a stopless aperture diaphragm. This allows you to focus and adjust the f-stop while the camera is rolling. The dual aperture system lets you choose between a stopless aperture diaphragm or the Waterhouse Aperture System, which can produce rich and patterned backgrounds through the insertion of special shape aperture plates.
The lens boasts a retro design with a contemporary finish, featuring a cool black anodized aluminum body. It is designed for full-frame sensors but also delivers great results when used on crop sensor cameras.
The Petzval 80.5mm f/1.9 MKII Bokeh Control Art Lens offers seven levels of swirl for full creative control. This lens is unlike any other, providing velvety swirly bokeh across the frame thanks to the unique Petzval optic design. It also features a super-large f/1.9 aperture for excellent low-light performance and beautiful foreground and background blur.
