I purchased this lens used from Adorama because I was looking for a nice affordable telephoto lens for my Mamiya 645 1000s camera. This is a great telephoto lens, with its multi coated glass you can achieve superb quality in your images at a very affordable price. This is a Mamiya C lens that will work with the newer Mamiya medium format cameras (645AF, AFD, AFDII). Keep in mind that it is a manual focus lens and will only work in manual focus on the newer cameras. I use this lens for wild life, landscape and macro photography, it has a built in slide out lens hood that I feel is convenient. It also incorporates an auto or manual switch for the aperture. With a 2x tele converter you now have a 600mm lens.

The 300mm f/5.6 is an unusually compact long telephoto, maintaining a 58mm filter size common to most Mamiya 645 lenses. The 300 f/5.6 performs extremely well at all apertures due to the use of Mamiya's ultra-low dispersion glass to eliminate chromatic abberation. It can be combined with the 2x Tele-Extender for use as a 600mm f/11 lens.
Applications include telephotography, landscape, wildlife, sports and fashion photography, where compression effect is desired.
