Really awesome design and amazing construction. Were too tall to fit in any of my lightstand bags. Should have thought about how tall 48" when minimized was. Returned for the next size down which is about 43" minimized.

Love these light stands. They're ultra sturdy, super light and the air cushioning works great. They also extend really high while still remaining stable. I bought these after getting two heavy duty c-stands and wish I had another three of these instead. I also like how they fold up and clip together, which makes them really portable.

I can't believe I never owned a set of these until now. I kept using beat up stands that couldn't hold any real weight at any decent heights. Well that is over - kudos Manfrotto.

I have had a whole set of 3 of the smaller stands like these for years, I got a single of this size a couple years ago and I've never had a single complaint other than the rubber edges on the locking knobs getting loose and coming off.. which is a really minor issue. I have never treated these carefully, and they've survived very well given their relatively light weight. Now with this set of 4 nested in my thinktank production manager 50, I'm ready to set up shop on the go... and hold lights, boom, and backdrops with great confidence.

So far I have been impressed. I bought the 12 ft to give me lots of options, but they are really quite heavy when all 3 of them are together. I am a women so men may not find this a problem. I also purchase the bag and it looks great and makes carrying them so much easier.

These stands are made with the highest quality and very well made! The way these stands let down are the cadillac of stands. Another awesome feature is the way the stands fold together. They are compact and very light weight. I would recommend these stands to any photographer looking for quality and durability

These Manfrotto stands are well worth the money and gets the job done. Great stack/lock feature with air cushion makes transporting a breeze. As always, well made and good quality. A few things that I never go cheap on are my cameras, lenses, BDs, lightings and stands/tripods. Don't like wasting time messing with things that are not build/made right. Rather be spending time "capturing the moment" so to speak. After all, stands/tripods are like tires/wheels on a car. Don't want to go cheap on those and crash your expensive sports car. LOL Get the right tool for the right job will make your life a lot easier and happier!

I got this set of three to mount microphones -- main pair and omni flankers. They worked wonderfully. Very stable, easy to transport, especially with a spare strap I had from a camera bag. I like the stackable/lockable feature of the stands when collapsed. The 'air cushion' when telescoping down the stands is a nice feature, preventing an unintentional slamming of one section into the one below it. Since I have amassed quite a few microphones, I already had plenty of thread adapters to mate microphone clamps and bars to the threaded portion of these stands.

I should have purchased these stands from the very beginning! Previously I had been using inexpensive Heavy duty and the much smaller lightweight light stands made by Impact. The Manfrotto 1004BAC stands are just about as large as the Heavy Duty Impact stands but as light as the smaller Impact stands.

I use these stands for backdrop support, reflector support, hot lights, and monolights. Being able to link these stands together is a killer feature and well worth the investment. It makes carrying these light stands to locations much easier. They are a nice trade off between light-weight and ability to hold fairly heavy equipment.

I love these, they go up to 12 feet and i feel pretty confident my stuff isn't going to fall. love the air cushion, gives me even more confidence. Overall, definitely one of my greatest investments, i can raise my strobes very high and have the lighting come down on cars for a nice effect.
