Dependable Tripod
I got some of these tripods for my high school students. Compared to tripods of the past, that typically last 1-2 years, these tripods hold up a lot longer.

Great tripod and head combo!

Best for the price.
Tough to beat for the money. I’m not really a manfrotto fan but this head is great. I paired it with sticks from another manufacturer used and it’s great.

This is a work horse without all the weight and bulk...I am a beginner using a video camera who was scared to death to place the camera on a tripod until I bought the Manfrotto MVH502A Fluid Head and MVT502AM Tripod System. It comes in a carrying bag that has a Velcro faster to keep the stand from sliding around in the bag. When you take the stand out of the bag it has a band that keeps the legs collapsed and in place. The cool thing is the band remains attached to the leg so ya don't loose it. Push down the center of the tripod, legs spread and your ready. The legs do telescope out they have very very sturdy locks and no skid footsies, which makes me very happy. That was one of my major concerns with other tripods I bought, fear of the tripod sliding out from underneath me. The Head is so user friendly (again I am a beginner) the dials for tilt and rotate so easy to set. Even has a leveling bubble. Sturdy durable and easy to use...

Great Tripod

Well-Designed Unit!
...The tripod pictured is slightly different than what arrived, but I have no complaint. The photo shows the spreader attached to the bottom of the 2nd leg segment, but when I opened the package, I saw that the spreader was actually attached to the bottom of the 1st, or upper segment. This works better for me, as I will use this primarily outdoors, as I am a Nature/Wildlife Photographer. This tripod feels solid, and once adjusted does not want to wiggle around, in spite of having thin legs, but the twin-leg design seems to negate that possibility, while still keeping the overall weight down. The head is very solid and fluid, with excellent placement of controls.

good video set up
This is the second Manfrotto tripod I have purchased. This one is great. I shoot mostly outdoors, so the bowl with its ability to level very quickly is really important. It not only saves time in the field, but also in post. The pan is smooth, and the tilt is smooth. In shooting position, the unit is rock solid. It is big and heavy, and there is no way I know of to use it on a really low level. I use a different support for ground level shots. It was a good purchase for me. The one complaint I have is with the supplied zippered carrying case. The case is well made, Manfrotto should rightfully be proud of that, but the one that came with my unit clearly did not fit. It was way too long (twice the length of my unit), and too small around. I made one out of canvas, and gave the original to charity.
