Good quality of light resource for macro pictures

Easy set up with good quality of light resource, especially with the dim light cover. The only shortcoming is have to put battery all individually.

Needs better instructions

The unit seems well built. I bought this strictly for macro work. The instructions are very clumsily written by someone that is not fluent in English. It is confusing to set up. The download page on their website for firmware updates is very confusing. The files are in .rar format which I had never heard of before this. I am optimistic that I can get good use of this once I learn all the settings.

Love it, but instructions horrible.

Gave it 4 stars for extremely poor instructions. About 49 pages in tiny booklets. Most to do with assembly. The Nikon brand unit has over 130. The exposures are awesome and has compensation so you can fine tune. Also can sync at high shutter speeds. Maximum distance at F22 is about 2 feet. Got it for macro. I spent about 12 hours or more using trial and error to learn how to use it. The only u tube video to help is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4X-1lIxAWA Unit less than 1/2 price of Nikon brand unit.

Nice for the price but protrudes to much for Canon MP-E 65

Not bad for the money. Using this on a Canon MP-E 65 2.8 1-5x. The setup prevents using 4x above due to the heads hitting work surface. This can be worked around using included stands on horizontal surface but not vertical. The ring and heads just protrude too far. I ended up mounting the ring from the back side of the adapter. This eliminated the extra depth added by the ring. I then had to reverse the mount housing on each head so they would not be facing backwards. This fixed the depth issue for most scenarios however you lose down angle adjustment on the heads. Csnt aim them in as much. Overall its nice for what you pay.
