With 8.0 megapixels at your command, you'll be able to create more subtly refined digital images than ever. Richer portraits, as each hair, each fiber stands out more clearly. Landscapes, too, will appear more life-like through enhanced detail. And you'll notice that details are sharper than usual, a benefit of the larger size of the 2/3-type CCD.
Every scene is different, requiring a different kind of processing. The DiMAGE A2 features an advanced LSI to tackle this complexity. White balance, contrast, & color reproduction are optimized with an exceptional degree of accuracy. Noise that tends to occur in the low-contrast areas of digital images is effectively suppressed, with no loss of image quality.
"Colors should come out just the way you see them." Seems like a simple concept, but not all digital cameras are up to the task. The DiMAGE A2 succeeds because of its image processing technology, CXProcess II, which balances several key traits of your images. Colors stay vivid but not unnaturally so. Noise during slow-shutter imaging is significantly reduced .
The Konica Minolta GT Lens ensures that light gets to the CCD sensor with utmost fidelity. It has 16 elements in 13 groups, including 2 AD glass elements to reduce flare, chromatic aberration, & image distortion. This lens system has been designed to maximize the quality of the 8-megapixel CCD.
Anti-Shake helps you overcome camera shake during handheld shooting. It keeps images steady at telephoto ranges where camera shake is more pronounced, & compensates for different kinds of shake. Furthermore, in low-light conditions you can expect better images without relying on a higher ISO setting or tripod.
Predictive focus control. Autofocusing is ultrafast so you don't miss the momentin Fulltime AF, focusing starts just 0.18 seconds after you touch the grip sensor and Super Fine EVF.
The Super Fine EVF is an extra-large VGA viewfinder that offers nearly four times the resolution of conventional QVGA electronic viewfinders.
Just as it does with still shots, the DiMAGE A2 puts plenty of features at your fingertips for movie recording. Your digital movies will be high-resolution (544x 408 pixels), with smooth movement (30 fps) plus audio, and will look great when viewed on TV.
The built-in 7x zoom lens offers tremendous versatility in a body that's easy to carry. Wide captures more of the background, whereas Tele is fantastic for filling the frame with your subject. Tele macro offers 5 x 4 cm (2.0 x 1.6 inches) macro imaging, with anti-shake. Three metering modes are available, Multi-segment, Center-weighted and Spot metering.
To help with shot composition, the LCD monitor can be tilted up as far as 90 degrees when you're at a low position, or flipped down by 20 degrees if you have the camera over your head. Also advanced flash metering choices & DMF direct Manual focus, user friendly controls, & much much more.
