I use the camera on outdoor adventures - backpacking, hiking, kayaking, snow camping, etc. The shutter speed is adequate for most uses, but don't rely on it to catch a fast-moving animal unless you've pre-set it for rapid-succession photos (action/pet). Even at that, it can be pretty slow sometimes. However, this camera cannot be beat for durability (I have accidentally dropped it several times), and the waterproof aspect works great so far. The photo quality is above average, but not professional quality. I wish it came with a wrist strap, in addition to the neck strap.

I've had this camara for about 3 weeks and have used it in several shooting environments. Perhaps it's the negative part of being an early adopter but this camera is not up to Nikon's standards. The body is nice and solid with a secure waterproof battery/SD card door. The screen is good for an UW camera. The problem is the auto focus and firmware. It has a hard time focusing even though the face detection area has picked out the subject. The shutter lag is horrendous as the camera tends to think forever. The flash tends to burnout about every third photo. Lastly, the detailed instruction manual is on CD not a written one like other Nikon 1/2 inch thick books. Hopefully there will be a firmware update soon. I've had several pocket underwater cameras from other manufacturers and this one is the best but far from a great Nikon.
