OEM quality as expected. Fits perfectly with the push to release button. With this particular hood and lens it doesn't stay on very well when inverted, but no big deal.

Fit is perfect as expected, given it is the more expensive Nikon version. I did not want to deal with possibly poor fit from 3rd party manufacturers, so I threw down on the more expensive option. Time will tell if it lasts. I purchased it to replace the genuine Nikon hood that came with my used 17-55 2.8 Nikon lens, which inexplicably developed a crack.

I bought my 17-55mm f/2.8 Nikkor used and always had issues with lens flare and ghosting, which was why I bought this hood. Well, it gets the job done, AND is made tough with a nice snap-in feature for the lens. Very well made material and worth the price.

It is the exact same lens hood you get when you buy a 17-55 2.8 Nikon lens. I bought this to replace my cracked original hood and it is identical.

Essentially identical to the HB-29 that comes with the 70-200 f2.8. Same heavy plastic, same push button lock. About 2/3 as long and just slightly smaller around at the mounting. Just different enough that it will not interchange with the HB-29.
