Its always better to have two
Shhh! Don't tell Adorama that I ordered this by mistake. After I unboxed the camera, I couldn't find the one that was supposed to be included. Until I already ordered this one. Then I found it and just kept tjhis one, too.

Works well. Stays on.
The hood is rigid and fits securely with a click so you know it's on right. It is made for the 18-300 mm lens; it fits on the outside of the lens, not the filter threads, so there is no vignetting, even at 18 mm.

This hood
It works but not what I wished for. This hood is not as convinient and effective as my previous 70-300 lens hood: not long enough to prevent sunlight's entering, not convinient when you reverse the hood and zook in. However, as there is no other choice but this very hood available, I have to live with it by spending $24 for it. Dont think it worth the price.

The Real Deal
Ordered a refurbished 16-85 from NikonUSA of all places and it came with a cheap knock-off lens hood that would not stay on and the "click" stop was non existant. On line again order from Adorama an bingo the original Nikon made lens shade that fits and does the deed.

Exactly the right lens hood!
We bought two of these lens hoods. They were exactly what we needed! We were referred to the Adorama web site from the Nikon website as a source for these hoods. The service from Adorama was quick and easy, and the shipping was fast. This couldn't have been a better transaction!

Fits & works fine
