Perfect addition on the E-M1 MkII!

When we switched from 1Dx's & 5D3's at the end of 2016 to Olympus, I loved the option of adding a full-featured vertical control grip. Makes for easy handling and helps when using the 40-150 2.8 PRO & 300 f/4 Pro. I keep the grips on ours whether in studio or on location, and having the second battery means 12 hour shoots are no issues!

It works as I had hoped it would. I feel more comfortable with the shutter release . It also makes it more comfortable in portrait mode.

Grip Makes the EM-1 Mk II Complete

Some people switched to micro 4/3 cameras for their size & weight. Not me. The EM-1 Mk II is too small to feel right in my hands, but with the HLD-9 grip attached, the camera regains the feel I like. The grip also allows for convenient replacement of the battery, without having to unscrew the grip from the camera. Unlike the grips that were made for the older model Olympus DSLRs (E1, E3 & E5), the HLD-9 grip only holds one battery, not two. A second battery can be stored in the camera (and used, too, without removing the grip), but I don't like the idea of removing the grip to replace the battery in the camera body. The grip provides a portrait mode shutter release, as well as a function wheel. All-in-all, I can't imagine using the EM 1 MK II without having the HLD-9 power grip attached.
