Fantastic wide angle lens for underwater use (in a suitable housing obviously). Super sharp, 180 degree field of view and very close focus. Great for those close-focus wide angle shots.

Fantastic lens that is going to be my lense of choice in the Himalayas. I can't wait to see how my landscape photo's will turn out overseas and I'm going to enjoy doing some creative videos with it.

Because capturing the world in a unique and expansive way is essential for creative photography and videography, the Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens for Micro Four Thirds stands out as an innovative tool for artists and professionals alike. This high-quality lens offers a 180-degree diagonal angle of view, delivering a distinctive perspective and an intriguing deformation effect that can elevate the visual narrative of any project, from television content and feature films to web videos.
Crafted with precision, the lens comprises ten elements in nine groups, ensuring a remarkable level of compactness. This design leverages the Micro Four Thirds system standard to achieve an unparalleled size, making it the world's smallest and lightest fisheye lens of its kind. The inclusion of an Extra-low Dispersion (ED) lens element is pivotal in maintaining consistent, high-quality performance across the entire focus range, effectively minimizing chromatic aberration and distortion.
The Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens boasts a minimum focusing distance of just 0.1m, allowing for dramatic close-up shots without the need to physically move closer to the subject, thanks to its inner focus system. This feature also provides a longer working distance, which is particularly beneficial when shooting delicate subjects or in tight spaces.
Compatibility with the high-speed and accurate contrast AF system on Lumix G Micro System cameras ensures a user-friendly experience, making shooting both efficient and enjoyable. The lens's seven-blade aperture creates a rounded shape that produces a beautifully smooth bokeh effect, enhancing the aesthetic quality of the out-of-focus areas, especially when shooting with a larger aperture.
For those looking to experiment with color and lighting effects, the lens accommodates sheet filters, such as gelatin filters, in the rear of the unit, allowing for creative filter expression. The stepping motor included in the lens design facilitates a smooth and silent focusing mechanism, ideal for uninterrupted photo sessions and movie recording.
Durability and reliability are not compromised, as evidenced by the robust metal mount and the use of multi-coated lens elements that effectively reduce ghosting and flare, further elevating the lens's optical performance. The thoughtfully designed lens hood is another feature that enables shooting even in challenging lighting conditions, such as under strong sunlight.
The Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens is compatible with a range of Lumix cameras, including the DC-GH5, DC-GX850, DC-G85, DC-G85K, DC-GX85, DC-GX8, DC-G7, DC-GF7K, DC-GM5K, and DC-GH4, making it a versatile choice for photographers and videographers looking to expand their creative toolkit with a durable, advanced, and innovative fisheye lens.
