About PANASONIC DMC-LX2K 10MP DIG CAMRA BLK
The 16:9 aspect ratio closely approximates the natural wide field of view of thehuman eye. To express this view more beautifully, the DMC-LX2 features a 10.2-magapixel 16:9 aspect CCD that produces images with all the clarity and dramatic presence of a movie scene. Even after shooting, the 16:9 ratio can be converted to 3:2 or 4:3 with the camera according to your purpose of use.
The LX2 features a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens with 9 elements in 8 groups. Full use of the CCD allows wide-angle 28mm shooting (equivalent to a 28 mm to 112 mm lens on a 35 mm camera). This is highly effective for expressing distance, and when shooting at a limited range indoors.
The extra optical zoom made possible by using the center part of 10.2-megapixel high resolution CCD, further extends the zoom ratio to 5.5x for 5-megapixel image recording in 16:9 aspect with minimal deterioration. Adding the Extra Optical Zoom to the 4x digital zoom extend the total zooming power to a maximum of 22x ( equivalent to a 616 mm lens on a 35mm camera).
Panasonic invented the MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) system to fight against the major cause of blurred images. It compensates for the blurring caused by hand-shake. The movement of the subject, the other major cause of blurred images, is suppressed by the advanced image processing LSI Venus Engine III with the Intelligent ISO Control (I.I.C.).
The DMC-LX2 adopts the Venus Engine III to realize high sensitivity recording at max. ISO 1600 at full resolution. The noise reduction system is greatly improvedby removing noise at the processing stages in series. The joystick was incorporated to facilitate operational ease and thereby get the best technical advantage of the multitude of functions offered by the camera.
A switch on the side of the lens barrel lets you quickly change the focus mode between MF, AF or Macro AF. The AF mode can be selected according to the shooting situation: 9-point, 3-point high speed, 1-point high speed, 1-point and Spot. The AF/AE lock button lets you frame your shot freely while keeping the focus locked.
Ther is an AF Assist Lamp, New Composition Guidelines, Real-Time Histograms and Two Axis White Balance Adjustment. Adjust the exposure setting to create a particular image, and Auto Bracketing lets you pick the best shot from different, automatically graduated exposures.
The LX2 features a Color Effect Mode, Picture Adjustment mode, a Zoom Auto Review, Direct Button Operation and You can use either a 10-second or 2-second self timer setting. The LX2 is equipped with a built-in multifunctional flash that features Auto, Auto/Red-Eye Reduction, Slow Sync/Red- Eye Reduction, and Forced On/Off.
To express the best of the extensive 16:9 wide image recording, the wide 2.8" and large 207k pixels high resolution LCD is newly equipped. The new High Angle Mode makes the display extremely easy to view & the LCD backlight is about 1.4 times brighter.
