It's so nice to have a wide-wide angle lens (18mm equiv) that's not only not a fisheye, but also very much rectilinear. Even on my old G85 the corrections seem to be working to straighten out lines -- except for the very edges of the frame. It's great for vlogging, but also architectural photos. And a very good price considering the Leica name!

Being wide and fast is usually rare, which is what makes this lens special. Not only is is gimbal ready, but it's a stop faster than most at this aperture AND it's a native Panasonic lens so it communicates with the body AND there's nearly no distortion which is characteristic of wide focal lengths.

Nice m4/3 18mm f1.7 great wide angle lens but like all wide angle lens, it is prone to flaring when shooting a backlit subject. I shoot in Raw File and fix the issues in post processing. Got this lens early because of an upcoming Utah trip.

Great light ultra wide to have in a small kit. Sharp image quality. Pairs nice with the Olympus 12-100 for walk around when you don't want to bring a bunch of gear.

This is a great lens for Micro 4/3. Very sharp throughout the image and minimal chromatic aberration. This lens is roughly the same focal length that you see on smartphone cameras - so as a beginner photographer it has challenged me to be more creative with my shots to stand out from phone photos, eg. getting more foreground elements, making the depth of field more apparent, better composition etc. I?ve been using this for street photography when traveling and loving it!

Panasonic's marriage of Lumix lenses with Leica lens magic has yielded some fantastic lenses. I have several. Love them! This one, though not used often, delivers very high quality. Clear, sharp, minimal distortion, not too contrasty. I shoot video and really strive for that more "cinematic" look (as opposed to that "video" look). The Lumix/Leica lenses really help in that regard.

Lens is Outstanding, fit perfect for all day carry on my GX-8! Reminded me of my Dad's Leica MP-4! Great focal length not to wide and not to cropped. Golden Rule for packaging! NEVER PACK LIQUIDS with camera equipment!!! The lens cleaning kit had some spray bottle solution that leaked ALL over everything, but the lens was on top so it was pretty safe a little liquid damage to the Lumix box but nothing got to the lens thank goodness!

I bought the Panasonic Lumix G Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 for use with my Olympus OM-D camera bodies. I previously owned and used the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8, but now only own the Panasonic 15mm. I replaced the Olympus 17mm because it had noticeably lower resolution than the 12, 25, 45, and 75mm Olympus prime lenses. I am very satisfied with this 15mm Panasonic prime. It has comparable resolution to the best Olympus prime lenses and works well with the OM-D bodies (focuses quickly and accurately). The Panasonic build quality is excellent too. The field of view is noticeably wider with the 15mm, even though numerically the difference is small (2mm). The only unique thing I discovered was that I cannot store the hood reversed on the lens, so I just store the hood attached to it. I would highly recommend this lens to Olympus camera users.

I purchased my GX1 with the famous 20/1.7 and saw little reason to replace it as my go to lens for everyday shooting. Over the years, I've accumulated the Leica 45, the 7-14, the obnoxious 100-300, the Leica 25 and now the 15, all manufactured by Panasonic. The Leicas, including this one is of substantial quality in weight and feel. Image quality is what you'd expect as well from one that Leica puts its name on - enough said. There are a few things I do enjoy on this lens that leaves me wanting on my existing and newer lenses and it's something that's a throwback to old but the standout includes 1/3 stop detents for the aperture ring.
