I bought this for my Panasonic AG-HMC40 camcorder,installing it was simple, using it is even easier. It produces great quality sound with out all the confusion. I am using an Audio Technicha AT897 shotgun mic. The combination of this XLR adapter and the AT897 = perfect audio for your video. The Panasonic AG-MYA30G comes with circular holder for a shotgun mic which I have not used. The AT897 came with a Pearstone shockmount which I like to use in the coldshoe. Great buy, a little on the expensive side but saved a ton of money on the camcorder so all worth it in the end for quality audio and video.
