I use this lens on both a 645Nii and 645D. Results are outstanding. The close focus distance is a little long if you like to get really close, but I have an extension ring to help with that. I've heard a few people say this lens is soft at wide apertures, my experience with two copies suggests these are more likely focusing issues on the part of the user due to the extremely shallow depth of field. You will never regret buying this lens.

Sigma has me hooked. They are pumping out extremely high quality lenses that are just as good and in some cases better than equivalent lenses from their first party competition.

Do you need a 180mm macro lens or will a 60mm do? What's the difference when both can deliver 1:1 magnification?
The smc FA 645 150mm f/2.8 IF Lens from Pentax is a medium format, manual and autofocusing telephoto lens with a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 118mm. Its fairly fast f/2.8 maximum aperture enables effective low-light shooting with pretty shallow depth of field, and helps produce a natural out-of-focus (bokeh) effect for backgrounds. High-refraction and extra-low dispersion glass help minimize chromatic aberrations and allow for sharp imaging performance with high contrast and clarity. The Super Multi Coating also contributes to high sharpness and contrast. An inner focus system is used to minimize lens extension when focusing, allowing for a closer minimum focus distance. A large hood with a PL filter operation window is included to enable the use of a circular polarizing filter while checking the results through the camera's viewfinder.
