Great alternative to the more expensive Nikon SB-5000

Works great - good build quality, which is a characteristic of all Phottix equipment that I’ve used. Recycle time is not too bad - better when using nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries. Menu system is not too intuitive - takes some time to figure things out. But for around half the price of the SB-5000, it’s a nice way to add some extra quality high-power wireless flash units to your photo arsenal without breaking the bank.

Nice flash for the price.

I bought the flash to work with the Odin II transmitter. Worked as expected. Easy set up. Recycle times could be better at full power but I can easily work with it.

Great flashes

I use Phottix extensible with my Sony cameras. Phottix flashes are reliable and have never had a problem with them.

Great for off camera flash

I bought this flash to use with more off camera lighting. Use a Phottix transmitter, and you can put this flash anywhere to create great lighting effects, including HSS.

A great off-camera flash!

This flash is a powerful, capable, and intuitive flash. Being able to use the weak, on-camera flash to trigger this off-camera gives you much better lighting control, with out the serious expense of studio lighting.

Love the built in tranceiver

Already had 2 with the Odin Transmitter. Needed that 3rd for a hair/back light. Built in receiver is great as you don't need line of sight. Also great as it will handle, TTL / Manual / High Speed Sync. I would recommend this to anyone from beginners to Pros. I would buy this flash again

Great Flash

I have 2 of these and I love them. I can use one on camera and the other off camera with very little effort and I get great results.

Awesome build!

So far so good but too soon to give it 5 stars. Because, when I used the flash on-camera recycle times were longer than I expected. May change to 5 stars if I find out my setting weren't optimal. Other than that, it worked like a champ with my Odin system.

Don't waste your money!

I have used the phottix Mitros + now for over one year. With the flash directly mounted on the camera things are working great but as soon as you bring in the Odin Radio Trigger system things are completely different. I am both very disappoint with the Phottix Mitrox + as well as the ODIN Trigger system. Its very unreliable and has a lot of sync problems. I bough several mitros + flashes as I thought this was going to be a good investment but it is money thrown away. Do not believe all the marketing talk from phottix nor the sponsored video reviews as this system is absolutely not worth his money.

Impressed!

I'm very impressed with this kit. There were extras included that I wasn't expecting, like a diffuser for the flash. The flash doesn't feel like a 3rd party flash and in my opinion, is on par with the branded flashes. The accessories included with the kit are higher quality than I was expecting as well. The bags are nice and sturdy.

Godsend for Nikon strobist

This little light is amazing! I love the build quality, even the box, case, and other components show no signs of cutting corners. I have ordered 2 more and a Westcott triple threat bracket. I cannot wait to play with this combo! :) My only concern, and its so small its not really an issue is that when the head is tilted at 45 degrees it almost wants to give when I have my large Rogue flash bender on it. But it does hold without collapsing. I wish it had zoom past 105mm but that is a very minor concern and not often needed.

Solid system!

I am so in love with these flashes! Finally Nikon has a reliable workhorse flash with built in transceivers. No more broken pieces of plastic. I love how solid these flashes feel - the quality is definitely there. And after shooting 2 weddings with 3 of these flashes last weekend, I am totally hooked and will be selling all my other Nikon flashes!

Beats Nikon Flashed in throw/color temp.

Just completed a test with a Nikon SB700 and a Phottix Mitros+ for Nikon in which both flashes were the same distance from a white wall, with the SB700 at 1/64th power and the Phottix (a more powerful flash) at one stop less (1/128th). I had already known from past use that the Nikon Flashes have a nasty looking throw pattern when used naked (without the dome diffuser on) but I never knew there would be such a difference compared to the Mitros+... With my camera (D4) set to a custom white balance with a white backdrop I placed the flashes on stands, about 3 feet apart, aimed at the background and set 24mm for the zoom range of both flashes. The throw pattern of the Mitros+ is a flawless circle, almost as if I had placed a grid or snoot on it. It also has a better color temp compared to the SB700 on the left, which looks bluish to me. (see attached photo) I wished I still had the SB900 to run the same comparison but I sold it to get a set of the Mitros+.

The Phottix Mitros+ TTL Transceiver Flash is the best of Phottix's gold-standard products All-in-One. A flash with Phottix Odin Transmitter and Receiver and Strato receiver all built in. The Phottix Mitros is a powerful and durable hot shoe flash that has proven popular since it's release earlier this year. The Phottix Mitros+ adds significant functionality, allowing photographers to not only use the Mitros on or off camera for lighting, but to also control and trigger remote flash by radio signal. The Mitros+ is a new industry landmark and was developed with input from wedding and event photographers.

Use the Mitros+ on-camera as a key or fill light, as well as control and trigger other Mitros+ flashes or compatible flashes using Phottix Odin Receivers. The Mitros+ also offers a built-in Phottix Odin Receiver and Strato II Receiver. Existing Phottix triggers, like the Phottix Odin or Strato II can be used to trigger the Mitros+ without extra receivers.
