Used Really Right Stuff Ascend-14 Long Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod with Integrated Center-Column & Ball Head

I?ve been looking for a compact travel tripod, which sometimes take many visit to camera stores. And many time the actual tripod you are looking for would not be available locally. Ever since the announcement and release of this RRS Ascend include the head back in December 2020, I?ve been setting my eyes on it. Curious how it looks in person, but again to no local availability then I have to be on waitlist on few online retailers include RRS site. Early this month, I was browsing Adorama site and came across that they have few in stock. I right away placed my order. Item was shipped in time which no surprise here. I?ve been Adorama customer for quite a while now dated early 2000. Back to the Tripod, once I?ve received and opened the box, all is as expected! Very light, solid and intuitive head which is part of the middle leg section. You can definitely take the middle section, and leave a small length for the head to be able to shoot with low angle on the ground. The ball head is sturdy enough to hold my Hasselblad X1D or 907X with variety of lens combo (up to 135 plus tele converter). It?s solidly built as any other RRS product, I have the TVC 33 with BH 55 head. And this is a very well designed travel tripod. If you have a heavier gear, you might want to look something else. This would be a nice travel companion if you want to travel light with 1 camera and a lens or two. All the dimensions are as stated on product description. I?m a 5?11 guy, if that?s any help for those who have been eyeing on this tripod. Thank you Adorama for having this in stock! I?m a happy camper for now!
