the RRS clamp looked perfect! but it wasn't. there was an important mistake on your website regarding the illustration photos. the one which showed the underside of the clamp was outdated. i had spoken with one of your sales reps before buying. he assured me that the photo was accurate. i had to send it back. the photo on your website has been corrected.

This is just what I was looking for so I didn't have to mess with the little knob on the head of my tripod that is very hard to access and get tight. One word of caution before you buy, make sure you can get the screw out to remove your existing plate on your tripod. I have a Sirui carbon fiber tripod. After stripping the allen wrench head of the screw, I found out from Sirui that the screw is glued in. I placed the head in boiling water to soften the glue and tried drilling a hole and using a screw extractor to remove the screw. My drill bit broke off in the screw head so I can never remove it. I am using a workaround where I attached my Really Right Stuff Clamp to another Arca Swiss type plate. I then attached that plate to my tripod and tighened it down so I can now use the clamp to attach and remove my camera.

I can?t believe I didn?t buy this sooner! I?m absolutely glad I did and have it now though! It?s fabulous and everyone and anyone who has a super-tele lens should buy one too. Buy it now and you?ll thank me later! I bought this because I did not like how small the original one was on the RRS MH-01 monopod head. I use a Nikon 500mm f/4E VR FL lens with a Zenelli Carbon Fiber lens foot. The replacement foot I use is quite long and was always sticking out of the front or back side of the original RRS lens clamp. This fixed that and I?d argue is even more stable! I highly recommend this accessory to anyone who thinks they may benefit from it! It?s well worth the extra money!

For large lenses with long ?L? brackets this 80mm clamp works better than a 60mm since the clamping surfaces are 33% longer.

The build quality is top notch and the quick release lives up to its name. I use mine on a Ronin S. Being able to take my camera off the gimbal and moving right to handheld quickly helps me as a wedding photographer

This thing is the bomb! Totally love it. Half open allows you to slide in your camera with an Arca Swiss type adapter and fully open allows you to drop in the camera with an Arca Swiss type adapter.
