I borrowed a friends NT-3 for use as a live mike for the mandolin, I was very impressed. Clean, clear reproduction of the woody sound of an acoustic instrument. I was very pleasantly surprised and love the fact that I do NOT have to crowd the mike to be picked up...the cardioid pattern allows great flexibility. I decided to purchase one for myself and found the price to be very reasonable for the high quality of the sound reproduction. I did have the zipper of the storage pouch provided break and the wind cover is looser than I like but all in all a terrific mike. I highly recommend this mike as an upgrade from basic mikes..I think you will love the sound and the quality of this mike!
