TL:DR Adorama, you were great with keeping me informed and delivering on time. Rode; meh The tamper resistant box was intact with no digs or dents. Delivery was punctual and the email reminders and tracking were welcome. The cable itself does exactly what it says on the box and the only disappointment is simply with Rode. 11 years after the lightning cable i/o was introduced and I'm still having to get another connection from the Dongle Company! MFI lightning adaptors have been around for over a decade and hopefully by 2050 Rode will introduce USB C to their range.

The SC-4 does exactly what it says. There is no noticeable audio quality issues and it 100% works. The quality on the male and female end are also top notch. However, the build quality is an issue. The cable that runs between the male and female end is incredibly flimsy. For an idea, the SC4 cable with is less than the width of the cable that runs to one apple earpod. To be honest, I do not feel confident that it will take what a normal production would throw at it, and I would not be comfortable putting it in any sort of bag with other things for fear that something would damage it. I give it 3 stars because it works as advertised, but I can't recommend it because of its build quality. To be honest, I would look into basic iPhone splitters that separates a MIC and Headphone channel because many are cheaper and seem to be a bit more solid. I think Rode is a great company, but this product in my opinion falls far from the quality I expect from their company. I would hope they would consider making a better, more robust version.
