Check Auto Focus Function

Lens worked great for the first 2 days. When trying to update firmware len?s auto focus and manual focus ring stopped working. Then motor for focus stopped working. Needed to send back to Rokinon for repair. Lucky covered under warranty for the 1st year. Rather get the Sony 20mm than the Rokinon 18mm. DON?T UPDATE ROKINON LENS!!

Amazing value for ultra wide

Fantastic lens for the money. Like others have noted vignetting is an issue but correctable in post. Sharp, light.

soft lenses hood

Haven't had the chance to use it much. I bought if for night photography. One thing that took me by surprise is the hood. It is not made of hard plastic like others that I own, but it is a soft plastic. Which I can see takes extra care when lining up with the lenses. It is very small and light.

Small, Light, Must Have Lens

Excellent Full Frame E-mount lens for my Sony A7iii, fast a/f, its small, light, hardly know its on the camera. A must have lens for those W/A shots where/if your primary lens is not wide enough. Excellent lens for a walk around and for cityscapes. Image quality is excellent. It is made of plastic, feels like plastic, so don't expect a Zeiss-like quality lens but nevertheless for the price point, an excellent lens to keep in you bag and for what it does.

Best bang for your buck for a UWA!

For the price it's amazing. Very sharp and very light weight therefore great for travel. Is it Batis quality? No, but for the price (especially when you wait for a sale) it's a better bang for your buck than those really expensive lenses! The Samyang f/1.8 trinity (18mm, 45mm, 75mm) are so small, inexpensive, very sharp, & amazing and will make you ditch your APSC system!

Super sharp, lightweight lens

Just pulled it out of the box and popped it on my Sony A7RIII. Super sharp, fast focus. I love how small and light it is but still feels solid. Also comes with a nice little compact carrying case which fits comfy in my bag. Can't beat the price either.

Rokinon AF 18mm F2.8 Full Frame Lens for Sony E
Optimized for portability, compactness, and ergonomic handling. It is Rokinon's fourth compact lens designed speci cally for Sony mirrorless cameras that is surprisingly capable for its size. At 5.12oz in weight and 1.99" in length, it is the most compact, lightweight, and a ordable super-wide angle full frame lens for Sony E mount.

The 18mm focal length provides a rectilinear 100.1 Degree super wide angle view that is especially suitable for landscape, interior, architectural, and night sky applications. For Sony APS-C sensor cameras, the focal length is equivalent to 27mm with a 76.2 Degree Field of view.

Optically, the lens is made up of nine Ultra Multicoated elements in eight groups. Eight specialized lens elements (3 Aspherical, 2 High Refractive Index, and 3 Extra-low Dispersion elements) combine to minimize distortion and ensure high image sharpness, clarity, and contrast.

The internal focusing design of the ROKINON AF 18mm utilizes a STM (Stepless Motor) for quiet, smooth and precise autofocusing to 9.8". This also prevents both changes in length and front element rotation to enable easy use of 58mm polarizing and other lters that require precise positioning. This compact wide-angle optic is designed with a metal mount and glass strengthened composite material to reduce weight while increasing durability.
