Just unpacked it. So far I’ve been very impressed with build, weight and surface level options.

This switcher fills the bill as an "in studio" multi-camera switcher, to live conference IMAG and live streaming switching. I have been using a Roland V-4EX switcher for the past many years. It works fine except that three of the four channel are only 480 and the streaming output is USB 2.0. The V-1HD has 1080 for all channels but no streaming output, which I solved below. Many times I am faced with doing IMAG and live streaming together for conferences. If I try to run the switcher through the streaming system and then pull the signal from there to the IMAG, there is a definite delay. I had to find a way to run everything through hardware and split the signal out to both IMAG and to streaming system. I am using a Magwell Capture Plus HDMI to USB converter to a system running Wirecast. Another neat thing is I can have a laptop connected to one of the channels running New Blue FXs Titler Live and use the luminescence key to run cool graphics and lower thirds from hardware before splitting signal. The only problem I have with V-1HD is with the preview screen output. I see the four windows from the four channels, but can't view an output window. I solved that by adding a monitor to the HDMI splitter going to IMAG and streaming system. Overall, this is a great switcher for the price, you just need to do a bunch of wiring to achieve best results.
