Do you REALLY want it?

This is indeed a sharp lens, but it lacks any character. There are good 135mm lenses out there for less money that are more worth it.

It gets the award!

I am using the lens on a Sony FS7. I’ve only shot one project on the lens so far. I had to shoot a glass award and it was rotating on a motorize turntable. The lens was very sharp and it was easy to adjust the focus as the award rotated. I’m looking forward to my next project where the macro will come in handy. I would recommend this lens.

About Samyang 85mm T1.5 Cine DS Aspherical Lens for Sony E Mount

The Samyang 85mm T1.5 Cine Aspherical Lens for Canon EF features a "De-clicked" Aperture to reduce any noise and jerking sound while shooting. This lens is follow-focus compatible to provide a convenient, quick and precise method for controlling the focus on the camera without the need to constantly reach over to the front of the lens. The 85mm T1.5 Cine Lens is best used for shooting video.

The Samyang 85mm T1.5 Cine Lens produces a slightly telephoto angle-of-view on full-frame sensors. It features a very fast maximum aperture of T1.5 and an 8 blade iris, for shallow depth of field with attractive bokeh. The focus and aperture control rings are outfitted with industry standard gearing, which provides an interface for working with a traditional follow focus. The aperture control ring has also been "declicked", which facilitates smooth iris pulls.

The 85mm has a minimum focus distance of 3.6'. Internal focusing minimizes the effects of lens breathing, which insures a more consistent angle-of-view when adjusting focus. The lens is composed of 9 elements in 7 groups, including one aspherical element to reduce spherical aberrations. In addition, a multi-coated elements help improve light transmission.
