Review Summary

I've tried Sigma's Art series for APS-C and came away impressed by the image quality. When it was time for my full-frame primes, I immediately gave Sigma a look. Their 'made in Japan' build quality assurance, features, and value made me choose it over the Sony GM. The lens did not disappoint. It met all my expectations. The construction is Art series standard. The focus is quick and precise with my A7R3a. Image quality is excellent. It's a fast wide prime in one of my most used focal lengths. It handles well and is not too heavy or large. I shoot landscapes and occasional low-light urban cityscapes with it. I haven't seen any negative image characteristics. Flare is well controlled. Sigma provided a carrying case which is a plus. A pleasant surprise! Highly recommend this wide angle prime.

This review was very hard to be objective about. You see, I've been waiting impatiently for Nikon to release a new 35mm f/1.4 lens for more than five years.
