Beautiful Views
I'm a bit of a scope junkie and have owned many. Tend to buy scopes, use them for a while and then give them away. This scope is a keeper! Great wide field views of brighter objects. Optics are fantastic. Mounted scope on Celestron CG-4 Equatorial Tripod. The Right Ascension knob at some stiction when I first used the scope but a little spray of silicone lubricant fixed that. Great wide field refractor
The Skywatcher EvoStar 80Ed is a great scope for the money. Views are excellent using the supplied 20mm and 5mm eyepieces. I was unsure how the scope would respond using the 5mm eyepiece, and was pleasantly surprised that the views with this ocular were sharp and crisp. Criticisms of doublets are based on the tendency of these scopes to provide green or purple fringing around the edges of bright objects.
