It only works on the “old” cage version. It is very sturdy and I haven’t experienced any cable slip while using it. Definitely recommend.

I got this as part of a kit when I bought the bmpcc4k. I understand that it's supposed to keep the cables securely locked in to your camera but, I found they got in the way when I was trying to plug the mini xlr in. I eventually took it off the cage. Besides I don't seem to have the problem of any cables falling off of the camera.

With a camera like the black magic the add ons can be never ending. The cable clip is a great addition to really help keep your wires organized with all of those add ons.
