I really like this battery plate. The lock and release for the battery are well designed as is the mount. However, there are things I would wish for. I am mounting it on the Small Rig cage for my Canon M50 Mk II. The mounting makes cabling to the HDMI output port and the power port a tad difficult. Also, I wish that somebody would come out with a commercial power cable for connecting this battery plate to the dummy battery for the M50 series. I bought a pack of four battery cables and managed to patch two of them together to make relatively short power cable which works. Also, the new Small Rig cage for the M5 and M50 does not allow threading the cable while the camera is mounted in the cage.

You can mount the plate to the camera rig using a 1/4"-20 thumbscrew or two 1/4"-20 hex screws. On the side of the plate are the battery connection indicator (Blue) and the three-level battery life indicator (Yellow) for checking charge status. If you push the red button on the side, battery life indicators will turn on for three seconds, and the last lamp will begin flashing at 10% to alert you about a low battery.
