Consider using a small digital (stereo) recorder as a pre-amp, Feed the output from the digital recorder to your input on the other device. A BX-800 should work. You can get one for $40.

Love this mic...but, one side of the stereo has a different floor level signal than the other. When you plug it in..you see that one side is noisier than the other. It also seems you can only use it with the specified products that have plug in power. Forget trying to get someone at Sony to actually answer a question that doesn't come in a corporate form answer. I've written twice to them about this and wanting to use this mic as a stand alone mic to a studio mic pre with phantom power...which does not work with this mic, and no one at Sony has answered my question. They just seem to only be able to answer in pre-set answer form and not actually answer my question about whether or not there's a device that can supply the 1.5 V power that is needed to use a "plug and play" device. Sorry...we were excited about this mic until we tried to use it. If I figure out how to use it...I'll come back and rewrite my review. This is how I feel for now. Thank you, T-Bone
