Used Sony HT-A9000 BRAVIA Theater Bar 9 585W 13-Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar

Hi Dominick from customer support I always keep the sound field on but it just sounds like a 3.1 system to stereo to surround up mixing sound. Besides that, I use DTS X or Dolby Atmos for my movies and games. It just sounds like a 5.1 system with the Bravia Rear 9; I can never hear those 10 extra speakers from the soundbar, and I tested it with the DTS application in Windows 11 so you can move a little spatial circle around the person. I can never hear those 10 extra speakers being used in the soundbar unless I have a defective Bravia 9 soundbar system. I always keep my Bravia Connect app up-to-date in the iOS store every week, but still, I have a problem with the application not connecting to the soundbar, so I had to factory reset it every time to connect or something failed to connect to the Internet, so I had to unplug it from the soundbar. I had to leave it unplugged for five minutes to restart the process again, or sometimes I play my PS5 or my PC or Apple 4K 2021 sound doesn't come out from the soundbar. I had to unplug it for five minutes to fix it and give power to the soundbar. I have a very rare occasion with my old setup problem. The problem I have with my old rear speakers is SA-RS5 the front channel flips to the SA-RS5 rear speakers, and no sound comes from the soundbar, or sometimes it sounds like you're underwater. Top features for software update I want from the Bravia nine sound bar are true 7.1 surround sound, like using the Sony SA-RS5 for left and right Surround Range and the SA-RS9 for left and right RearSurround Range like the picture showed down below. Another feature is to check the battery health for the SA-RS5 left and right speakers' built-in batteries, and a video to show us how to open them to check is ok in seven years, or a program from Best Buy to check it and perform service maintenance. Another feature for the SA-RS5 would be to give them another purpose: to make them Bluetooth speakers by holding the power button and the optimize button for five seconds, and to do it again to return them to sound bar mode connection.

It just sounds like a 5.1 soundbar; the other 10 speakers they put in I can never hear. I have the sa-sw5 and use Bravia rear 9 the stereo to surround up mixing sucks so bad. It's no difference from regular stereo signals, the Bravia app always disconnect from the sound bar I had to factory reset 50 times per year I wish Sony let me use USB over ethernet to connect to Internet there's no big difference from ht-a5000 you just lose 360 reality audio because there's no way to play probably if you have Amazon fire 4k stick 2024 you cannot play from Google audio play for some reason that you don't have a Support for this 360 audio reality from playing Google audio And AirPlay 2 and I get lot screen tearing when turning VRR for my PC gaming connected through second HDMI port on the Bravia nice sound bar no problems with the PS5 connect through a sound bar

I bought this 3 weeks ago. Installs easily once you upload the required app. Sound is better than the TV speakers but definitely lacks base. Also works with TV speakers as central speaker. Fits well in front and under my new Sony 65" TV (though that has had regular problems of its own). Bar has its own flat raised legs so sits over the TV legs with no wobbling. No assembly required. Plug the 3 wires and activate on the app. Don't like the material cover over the speaker section as that collects dust and makes moving or managing the bar difficult. Think of it as a way to improve your TV speaker sound. If you want more - you need the rest. I will be looking to get rear speakers and an amp as that is what i had before going down to this bar. Pity though, the rear speakers and amp are so expensive, it will be a while before i can invest in these. Small win, when i do get the extras - it will all be wireless so slightly less clutter with wires.

The Bravia Control app & system is the most horrible wireless setup I have ever seen. It literally took hours and multiple attempts to get all the system components to link and eventually work. Sony, you can do better than this!

I was looking forward to receiving this soundbar and wanted it since launch. All was perfect for about a week then a whiney noise started to come from the bar, done all the required steps to reset, bought new cables etc but no joy.Went through the support chat which kept going round in a loop and would confirm an engineer would be required to visit and troubleshoot, not ideal but fine. When clicking through to proceed I kept getting a message to say I was out of warranty and they couldn't assist. The only option was to return, this process is just as painful and frustrating.

It is easy to setup and the sound is just awesome, even without the optional add-ons. Music, movies and dramas all sound great on it.

The sound from Sony Bravia Theater 9 Sound Bar with SA-SW5 subwoofer is surprisingly good. With good quality sound recording, the HT-A9000 can make both movies and music listening very enjoyable. Its a good product.

So far so excellent. Pairs perfectly with the new Sony Bravia 8 II which itself has a good sound system. As an avid movie watcher the Theatre Bar 9 is extraordinary. Watched Dune as the first movie - lights out - OMG. In the Cinema experience.

Fantastic soundbar, the 360 spatial technology works very well, especially with Atmos. I've paired it with a Bravia 9, very easy config/setup, the s center is a nice feature. The TV stand in high mode and the bar are perfectly matched from an aesthetic perspective.

Using it for a month now, perfect complement to Sony TV. Center speaker sync actually works to make the TV dialog sounded broader. Bass is surprisingly adequate with just the bar alone. 360 spatial sound mapping pretty convincing especially with added RS5 rear speakers. Hopefully the 360 spatial sound mapping can be further improved, at its current state, the dialog from movie content is way too soft at default, need to enable advanced auto volume to have a better listening experience.

I purchased this Sony Bravia Theater Bar 9 soundbar because it matches my excellent Bravia 8 TV, but so far I am somewhat underwhelmed by the soundbar's performance as I'm not hearing much sound separation / direction. The soundbar also desperately needs a digital readout advising what type of sound input it is actually receiving / processing (eg mono, stereo, Dolby Atmos, DTS etc). I assume the soundbar's performance would be enhanced by the matching Sony sub and rear speakers but their prices are extortionate.

Always bought Sony Bravias but this latest model surpasses them all. Excellent picture quality and sound, especially linked up to a Sony Soundbar. Built in Google TV makes using apps far easier. A must buy for anyone wanting to upgrade.

I bought this last october and by july it had broken. That's less than one year. My specific issue seems to be a software one - it has locked itself in setup mode so it can't be used. I've spent hours on the phone with sony support and attempted about 25 factory resets, but its bricked. Make sure you save your original packaging so you can ship it back to their service center in georgia

The soundbar it's self is very good, but one star removed because the app is rubbish. Doesn't see my microphone on my phone. Even though the green dot says it's in use. Doesn't always connect to the soundbar. Have found out this is sometimes due to the VPN. Not always. Plus the soundbar doesn't always change to HDMI 2 automatically. Costs a lot of money would think the app would be a lot better. Don't like the fact there is no menu on the soundbar it's self. Think removing the celebration mic was a mistake.

Brought this to go with new Bravia 8 ii 65" TV Sits perfect in the space under the TV. Was a little bit of hassle getting the Bravia Connect App to work, had to reset the Soundbar to sort it. But now it's all working I'm really pleased. When Sony bring out a pair of rear speakers that aren't battery operated I will add them to the system. With the lights off when watching a movie it's like being at the cinema but with the comforts of home.
