I found this to be robust and easy to use with my A7iii. The flash covers the focal lengths that I use 21-100mm that I need and shows the range. I spent some time going through the menus and I find them straightforward now.

I bought this flat unit several weeks ago for my new A7R IVA and it?s exactly what I needed. The menu is fairly straightforward and it has enough power to do most of what I need it to do. Especially love the ability to use it off camera and to control other flash units with it.

The flash charges very quickly. The building is not as good as Canon. The hot shoe is made of plastic and I?m not that happy about that. I was expecting a metal hot shoe. The flash head moves without the button.

Bought this to accompany my new Sony camera. As it didnt have a combined flash built in. Great choice. Well pleased

I bought first with intent to buy commander only but ended up buying two 45?s and commander. Confusing setup, had to follow YouTube video but work great, easy menu, and good quality.

I currently own the Sony HVL-F60RM and love it, but needed a second flash. Though this model is a bit less expensive, it works great!

Good features, but it could do to be a bit more intuitive!

Couple of issues: 1. Multi mode is not available when on RCV as slave to commander 2. No PC SYNC socket as per HVL-60RM

Does everything it should very well. Particularly like the strobe. Starts and recycles really quickly with rechargeable batteries. On a balancing act it is more expensive than 3rd party flash guns but you on the other hand it is designed specifically for the camera and so the risk of a missed photo is reduced. Really like it!

Bought this for use with Sony A58 camera and it fits straight on. Good size and weight for camera and so far resukts have been great. No intention to use off-camera or as part of lighting system at the moment but good to know it has the capability. Compatible with newer camera such as Sony A7 I have eyes on. Relatively new to photogaphy the unit appears simple to set up and use.

Customer Service of Adorama is best in class. The advice and opinion provided has always be for what would meet the customer's needs at the least cost rather than just making a sale at the highest priced product.

Followed the steps provided in manual. But was not able to trigger optically. While my old M320 triggers optically. Awaiting technical resolution.

I'm not sure why the quick shift bounce feature was removed but it is a design I really miss. Have been working with the f43 for quite some time I loved how easily it was to handle. The menu system works well but I'm having a hard time getting used to the traditional head movement again.

After finally tiring of the limits of the flash units built into my two a6500s I sprang for a trio of HVL-F45RM strobes and from my limited time using them I can say they work well, deliver as advertised -- and the radio link sure beats the infrared communications between my old Nikon D300s bodies and compatible, remote-capable strobes. The Nikons worked well enough, but at times ambient light or positioning necessitated some position tweaking to get the remotes to fire. No such problem with the HVL-F45RM, all the way out to about 100 feet....nice!

I originally purchased another brand of flash for a second ocf unit. Though it said it was for use with the sony system, it did not work for me. So I decided to try this unit and it has synced and worked perfectly with my F60M.

I purchased this flash specifically for my a7rii for on-the-go applications when I don't want to carry my bigger light. I'm happy that the flash pattern is nice and round and light is soft which surprised me in a good way of course. I used to own other Nikon flashes before I switched to mirrorless (happy I did) but this one from and for Sony is just awesome! The features like installed radio, which is super easy to pair with FA-WRC1M, focus assisting LED/video light and off course the perfect size for a7rii are worthy of investment!

This flash has exceeded my expectations. I am using it with a Sony A99 II. It is smaller in size from previous Sony flashes yet still offers a lot of power. The new menu is simplified and easy to make adjustments. The flash head rotates vertically and horizontally which makes it very flexible and accommodates various shooting scenarios. I also bought the new Flashpoint R2 radio transmitter made for Sony cameras, but unfortunately it will not sync with the Sony Flash. I think the "made for Sony" means it will and does fit on the Sony Flash shoe on the camera. If I were to return either, it would be the Flashpoint R2 transmitter because I love this new flash,

Radio wireless flash control for versatile shooting
Supply powerful lighting with the compact high-performance HVL-F45RM clip-on flash. Explore freedom of built-in wireless radio control in multi-flash settings and conventional optical wireless communication. Easy operation, excellent reliability, expert results — especially for enthusiasts of compact α E-mount interchangeable-lens cameras. Dust and moisture-resistant design.
Dramatically downsized to fit the α E-mount cameras, this compact flash is as powerful as guide number 45. Recycle time is approx. 2.5 seconds, with flash output up to approx. 210 times
With its built-in wireless radio-controlled system, the versatile HVL-F45RM can be used as either commander or receiver, supporting a wide range of shooting situations. As a commander, connect up to 15 units of compatible flashes or receivers in up to 5 groups. You'll appreciate wireless convenience and varied lighting for flashes placed at distances of up to 98.4 feet.
Radio-control connection with various types of off-camera units.
[1] HVL-F45RM (receiver / off-camera flash)
[2] FA-WRR1 (receiver) + compatible flash (off-camera flash)
Wireless control of up to 15 units in up to 5 groups.
[3] FA-WRR1 (receiver) + studio flash (via sync cable)
[4] HVL-F45RM (commander / on-camera flash)
[5] FA-WRC1M (commander)
Radio signals enable stable connection over a wider shooting area (about 98.4 ft/30 m). Compatible off-camera flash units or receivers pick up radio signals — in bright light, around obstacles, and even when installed behind the camera. That means more consistent results without pairing errors.

Enjoy quick intuitive operation with tab menus just like that on the camera.
One press of the 'Fn' button calls up the Quick Navi screen, letting you directly change settings.
Assign often-used functions to up, down, left, right & center keys, and control wheel for easy access.
Flexible head rotates 180° left and 180° right for rapid bounce operation.
Use easy 150° up/8° down tilt adjustment, plus one-touch rearward bounce.
Bounce flash is possible, even with the camera held in vertical composition.
Control shutter speed and flash intensity for the precise effect you want.
Set intensity for each of up to three groups of wirelessly controlled flashes.
Flash can be synchronized to all shutter speeds — unlike conventional daylight sync, in which shutter speed must be equal to or slower than flash speed.
By acquiring accurate distance information between the lens and subject through TTL metering, ADI delivers precise flash intensity control that is not influenced by high or low reflectance of the subject or background.
Guide number changes according to zoom position. See the table below.
